I've heard from so many friends--one spoke through sobs--who are barely managing to do their jobs while caring for young kids. They're operating on little sleep, struggling w/ depression. One is leaving her job. We need to be talking more about how to support parents, esp. women.

So many work through the night. Our children backslide. Inboxes, laundry piles grow—we repeat, this is unsustainable. After months of neglect my five year old said to me last night, I’m still proud of you. It can be far worse. For families everywhere, we need #PaidLeaveforAll.

Police violence is also a pandemic. As is racism. COVID-19 is hitting Black Americans twice as hard as white ones. Black unemployment is at 16.8%; white at only 12.4%. If we’re privileged & able, we need to be willing to raise our own personal risk in order to lower theirs.
