While I am aware of the fact that a lot of my followers probably don't really care about the latest ai slop pushes by this platform, if you carry on elsewhere my posts are also on: 🟦sky: rockstar.l7y.media Which is bridged with brid.gy as well.

bsky pds's are neat. it's letting you control your data without the burden of having to serve said data to 800 different homeservers. I can run it off a fairly low bandwidth server without issue. it's not true federation, sure. but let's be real if the biggest server hosts...

(i.e bsky's own pds's) decided to call it quits even if the network survived the event it would massively decrease the user base because most people aren't nerds enough to use their own host or others. it atleast means you have your data, and avoids the big bandwidth requirements

In Ireland I saw a fox at the Cliffs of Moher parking It was very friendly to people and being fed. I thought "wonder if anyone else took photos of it" and theres a stock photograph of i think the same fox taken about a month later in the parking lot Or a very similar one lol

someone should build an island directly between Europe and North America and put servers on it no longer will you need to pick who to have lower latency to, everyone gets 50ms
