During the UK election campaign I noticed that nobody was talking about the areas central to the work done by @CAST_Centre (cars, flying, diet, heating). AND, as a qual researcher, I love analysing party manifestos.🤓 Hey presto! This resulted in a blog! cast.ac.uk/the-2024-uk-elect…

The British public are pretty clear on how they see those involved in the recent riots. "Thugs", "Rioters", "Racist", and "Far-right" are words a majority of Brits would use. "People with legitimate concerns" is chosen by just 16%, while the "far-left" is picked by just 7%.
Replying to @YouGov
What words do Britons think apply to those taking part in the recent riots? Thugs: 67% Rioters: 65% Racist: 58% Far-right: 52% Terrorists: 23% Protestors: 21% Activists: 21% People with legitimate concerns: 16% Patriotic: 9% Far-left: 7% yougov.co.uk/politics/articl…

Proud to have worked on this under the superb leadership of @LucasGeese! We highlight the need for TADA researchers to have a sufficient qualitative understanding of climate politics and policy in the country cases they study to overcome conceptual challenges

To address this, we – colleagues at @Brussels_School @ueaenv & @Politics_SAI – have conducted this review. We find a relatively small, interdisciplinary, yet growing research area. Crucial research gaps are identified and unpacked.

As @energygovuk officials give evidence to @CommonsPAC on government's plans to decarbonise home heating, some politicians and policymakers may want to learn from what happened in Germany in this policy area. Our new @CAST_Centre briefing does just that! tinyurl.com/2uxe9kra
