We are horrified by reports that three children, including an infant, were killed and seven children injured in an attack on a park in Nova Vodolaha, Kharkiv region, this afternoon. Parks and playgrounds must be safe places for children. Attacks on civilian infrastructure must stop.

Over the weekend, attacks killed and injured scores of civilians in front-line areas and across #Ukraine, damaging homes, schools and a hospital. Alarmingly, energy infrastructure has been hit as colder weather sets in. 🎥Watch more from the attack sites in #Kyiv.

Met with CERN Council President Prof. Costas Fountas to discuss Lithuania’s long-standing cooperation with CERN and ambition to become a full member of @CERN. 🇱🇹 is ready to contribute more to CERN’s scientific and technological progress. Our strengths in lasers, photonics, electronics, and engineering, alongside our scientific and business expertise, offer clear benefits for both sides. Full membership would provide more opportunities for Lithuania to contribute to European science, technology, and overall competitiveness.

Critical health supplies were destroyed when a WHO warehouse in Ukraine was hit in an attack. These supplies were intended for health facilities treating patients every day. From the burnt warehouse, @Chikwe_I, Executive Director, WHO Health Emergencies Programme, explains what the loss means for health care in Ukraine and how WHO is adapting to keep essential medicines and medical supplies moving to where they are needed most. Attacks on health care must stop. Health workers, patients and medical facilities and supplies must be protected under international humanitarian law.

🇱🇹 A country’s size need not limit the scale of its ambition. Lithuania ranks 32nd among 139 economies in the 2026 Global Innovation Index, its highest-ever position. Plenty to be proud of and a strong foundation for further growth.

Lithuania strongly condemns Russia’s latest attacks on #Ukraine. Strikes on Kyiv, Rivne State Humanitarian University, and civilian infrastructure have claimed lives and caused widespread destruction. Russia must cease its aggression, withdraw its forces, and face accountability.

🇱🇹PR @rytispaulauska at the 77th #UNHCR ExCom: 🔹Lithuania remains a strong partner of #UNHCR, politically&financially 🔹We are fully cognizant of the unprecedented financial pressure on the humanitarian system 🔹Since #Russia’s war of aggression began,🇱🇹 has welcomed over 109,000 Ukrainians. 52,000+ currently enjoy temporary protection, now extended until March 2028. 🔹Ukrainian children deported to RU & #Belarus must be safely returned 🔹Belarus’ #instrumentalization of migrants for political purposes is an inhumane&unacceptable practice that puts lives at risk. 🇱🇹 has instituted proceedings against Belarus before the @CIJ_ICJ concerning the organized smuggling of migrants into Lithuania. @Refugees

Every person forced to flee deserves the chance to move beyond simply surviving. The world has changed, but the promise to protect people has not. Today, UNHCR #ExCom begins. The decisions made there matter for millions of refugees.
