ALT Llanelli Rural Council Chairman, Cllr Michael Donoghue, Llanelli Town Mayor, Cllr Louvain Roberts, Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council, Cllr Giles Morgan along with Vice Chairman of Ymlaen Llanelli, Cllr Andrew Stephens, and Vice President of Llanelli Chamber of Trade and Commerce Mr Dyfrig Richards, came together to judge the Design a Light competition. This is an annual event open to schools in the Llanelli Rural Council and Town Council areas. With 491 entries the judges had the unenviable task of choosing a winner from each of the Infant and Junior Categories. The winning entries will be sent off to be converted into Christmas lights and switched on along with the town’s Christmas lights on Carnival Evening, 20th November and displayed in the town centre over the festive season. The winners will be notified closer to Christmas and will be presented on carnival night with £200 each in vouchers from sponsors Llanelli Chamber of Trade & Commerce and Ymlaen Llanelli.
