NYC restaurants and bars are under pressure. Food services and drinking places employment fell by 15,100 jobs (4.7%) year over year in September 2026. Rising costs are putting neighborhood businesses and jobs at risk. We need policies that make NYC more affordable. @NYSLabor

1/3 I was proud to share with Governor Kathy Hochul, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, and Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman just how vital our hospitality industry is to New York City.

I’ve been receiving numerous messages seeing me standing behind the mayor during his major tv press conference. I must share this. It was once shared with me there are over 10,000 rules on the books for small businesses to follow or be shut down. These 50 initiatives are important as a first step in the sea of rules that handcuffs small businesses from creating more jobs and tax for the ny economy. I stand behind the mayor and the deputy mayor of Economic justice Julie Sue to continue this effort considering not everything asked for was granted. As small businesses owner and an executive board member of @thenycalliance representing over 20k hospitality businesses I stand as a watchful eye on the over 10k other rules causing havoc for us. Please continue to listen and make the necessary changes. In order to make a city affordable for New Yorkers we must make it affordable for the smallest businesses in nyc too. As always on the road to @Neirstavern 200th milestone year, I still believe community conquers all.

✂️ Today @NYCCouncil passed Int. 955, the #RedTapeReliefAct, an important step toward cutting red tape and helping restaurants, bars, other small businesses open faster, hire sooner, and avoid costly delays. We commend @SpeakerMenin, @CMSusanZhuang, and their colleagues!

Sad to see another long standing restaurant close after Nearly 4 centuries. My goal when @Neirstavern was days from closing 16 years ago was to bring it to 200 years. It’s now 196 years on the road to 200 years in 2029. Every year we host a block party (10/3 12p-6p 197th year) in hopes of reminding everyone we still exist and to continue their recurring visits and introduce others. Let’s do the same for more of our small business. Thanks @Neirstavern Ambassadors club for their support
Another one bites the dust…Eighth Ave, longtime midtown staple.

We had a blast at @neirstavern 's watch party for the Haiti Vs. Morocco game! It was a pleasure to catch up with @nycmayor 's new official Mom and Pop Czar, Delia Awusi, Community Boad 4 Queens (@QueensCB4) District Manager Christian Cassagnol from Cassa NYC, and Queen Mixxy! Only in Queens can you watch an international soccer match at a bar that's been around since 1829! Thank you to our member Neir's Tavern, @Loycent and family for hosting such a fun night!

Huge win for small businesses! The House just passed H.R. 915, the Small Business Technological Advancement Act, by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 414-4. 3C was proud to endorse this commonsense bill because small businesses need access to AI-powered tools and other digital resources to compete and grow. By clarifying that SBA 7(a) loans can help finance these tools, H.R. 915 makes it easier for entrepreneurs to modernize their operations, increase efficiency, and stay competitive in today’s economy. Thank you @RepMarkAlford and @RepSusieLee for leading this important effort. Now it’s time for the Senate to keep the momentum going and pass this bill. @SenToddYoung smallbusiness.house.gov/news…
