New article by @KruRyno where he shows that facial dominance predicts intelligence. Children expect dominant-looking individuals to be "really smart." Less consistent in these data was a gender stereotype about intelligence.

Come work with Ratan! He is doing some of the most exciting work in visual neuroscience right now. And Georgia Tech is such a vibrant and exciting place (ok, I may be a little biased).
Exciting news! The Murty Lab @GeorgiaTech, has received its first significant funding from the @NatEyeInstitute. We are now actively recruiting up to two postdocs in experimental and computational neuroscience in human vision NeuroAI. 1/n

Thinking about my #Emory Class of 2014 Commencement keynote from the late Hon. Congressman John Lewis, in which he told our melting crowd in that Georgia sun to go out and be bold, find beloved community, get in the damn way and most of all: get in real good trouble.
WTF @Emory????

Frans de Waal was an incredible colleague and friend. His work was groundbreaking, and many of us at Emory felt his constant support, even after his retirement. He will be missed. RIP Frans.
We lost an incredible human being. Thank you Professor de Waal, Frans, for making the world a significantly wiser place. We will continue the quest. nos.nl/l/2513035
