🤖 For large, complex, or frequently changing parts, robotic machining is outperforming traditional CNC machines. Industrial robots can be reprogrammed quickly and approach a workpiece from any angle, cutting the time spent on changeovers, fixtures, and set-ups.
💰 They cover large working envelopes at a fraction of the capital cost of a fixed gantry CNC, and can be reconfigured or redeployed as requirements change instead of becoming outdated. With high-rigidity robots and advanced kinematic correction, systems like Loop Technology’s RoboMACH deliver the accuracy needed for carbon fibre, composites, wood, foam, plastics and more whilst staying flexible enough for mixed materials and low-to-medium volumes.
⁉️ When variety and adaptability matter more than fixed high-volume production, the robot is the more productive and cost-effective choice. Are you still specifying large CNCs for high-mix or oversized parts?

🛩️ As we build up to @the_CAMX next week, we are looking forward to meeting all the composites professionals in Atlanta, Georgia.
🤖 Loop Technology US Inc. will be co-exhibiting with @ZundAmerica1 on Booth L18. We will be showing how Zünd digital cutting tables and FibreLINE combine together for ultra high-rate composite manufacturing: cut the ply, pick, form and place it.
📖 FibreLINE automates the traditional manual process of handling large-format plies, with greater precision, speed and scale. Compared with AFP/ATP, more material is placed in each cycle, with fewer machines. Because it is a continuation from large-ply manual layup, it is less disruptive for manufacturers to adopt. Customers do not have to radically redesign the process or their ply book around laying down thousands of individual tows or tapes.
🏗️ The manufacturer can qualify a part via a manual process and then add FibreLINE automation in stages. The smaller factory footprint is why it achieves the same output with arguably a quarter of the number of the production lines required with AFP/ATP.
🗣️ Matt Hardman, Global Head of Sales, set this out brilliantly in his interview with Jonathan Taylor Composites Weekly last year at CAMX 2025. Watch that interview via the link below:
