Nearly 1 in 3 urban employees show blood-sugar dysfunction, with the problem rising sharply with age, according to Loop Health’s Workforce Health Index 2026. 31.3% had blood-sugar dysfunction, rising to 52.9% among employees in their 40s. Stress, poor sleep and lack of exercise were also common.
#AIIMS #endocrinologist Prof Ravinder Goswami said changing lifestyles, indoor work and night-shift schedules can disrupt the body’s circadian rhythm, affecting hormone secretion, metabolism and eating patterns. He said stress and elevated night-time cortisol can contribute to weight gain and metabolic problems. #Diabetes #BloodSugar #MetabolicHealth #UrbanHealth #WorkplaceHealth #HealthNews #PreventiveHealth #LifestyleDisease #HeartHealth @timesofindia @aiims_newdelhi @MoHFW_INDIA

🚨 Mumbai doesn't slow down and it shows up everywhere else too.
81% run on daily caffeine. 35% don't exercise at all. 42% didn't take a single preventive health step last year‼️
A city in constant motion and almost never in maintenance.

Here's the kicker: of all the metros we studied, Bengaluru ranks the worst on nutritional deficiencies.
Both Vitamin D and B12 are more deficient here than anywhere else in India.
The city that optimises everything, except it's own bloodwork! 😅

Last year we found a gap: India has no national benchmark for the health of its own workforce.
So, we built one!

So I used the ring for about a week.
While the data like HR, breathrate, sleep analysis is similar to my Coros watch App, the HRV is around 115 while Coros shows a range of 42-52.
Activities have to be added manually in the App.
Thanks @LoopHealthHQ for the @UltrahumanHQ ring.

Meet our winner, @sandeepvarma15. Here's his story 👇

A home loan made me introspect my lifestyle at the age of 37.
Being in a sales job in a Pharma Co, it struck me then of the seriousness we call life. I had lost my parents at the age of 11 & 25 & they both had heart disease.
What if something happens to me? How will my wife repay the loan? What will my little daughters think about their father? These were the questions floating in my mind.
I had seen even younger colleagues taking BP and diabetes medicines. So I stepped out of my home for a walk-jog the very next morning.
I knew that lifestyle modification is the first advice by all the major guidelines for the treatment of lifestyle disorders, but many doctors also don't implement them.
It was difficult to run even 100 meters in 2004.
Last Sunday I won the Sahyadri Ultra 50k in above 50 age group, finishing the hill run in 5 hrs 31 minutes.
No pills yet for BP, diabetes, lipids, other ailments.
Consistency in low-carb lifestyle, running, now also strength training in a gym. Age is just a number.
Grateful that the realisation for good health came even before any tragedy could strike.🙏
I think I’ve had two major phases where I started taking my health seriously.
The first was when I was around 15-16. I had really bad acne, board exam stress definitely didn’t help, and I was willing to try everything. And I did. I cut out sugar, milk, and basically every food the internet claimed would make acne worse. My skin eventually cleared up. It’s been years since I’ve been to my dermatologist because over time I’ve figured out what doesn’t suit my body. I also had a few bad experiences with dermatologists, so learning what worked for me became really important.( I still do eat shit that aggravates my skin sometimes)
I wasn’t always consistent with working out, but cutting down on sugar was the one habit that stuck.
Fast forward a few years, I started running because of my mom and my best friend. That didn’t last too long after my best friend moved away, but it taught me that staying active is so much easier when you have someone doing it with you.
Then a few months ago, I had laparoscopic surgery and couldn’t work out for almost three months. One day I put on my favorite pair of jeans and they just didn’t fit the same. It sounds small, but that was my “okay, this is it” moment.
I joined a gym, and my trainer asked me to get a full body blood test before we planned anything. Unsurprisingly, I was severely deficient in vitamin D and B12. Seeing that report made me realize health isn’t just about how you look, it’s about what’s happening inside your body too.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that after cutting down sugar for so many years, even things that people say are “just a little sweet” taste way too sweet to me now. I still love ice cream though. 😭 I also developed sensitive teeth, which is another reminder to take better care of myself.
I’m still nowhere near where I want to be, but I don’t think that’s the point anymore. I just want to become the best version of myself. Stronger, healthier, and someone who can stay consistent even when life gets in the way. That’s the habit I hope never leaves me.

Whenever my kid asked me to play, I say later & then feel sad for my kid seeing his sad face
Then one day I Saw my tired, puffy face in the mirror & decided to
stop saying “later” to life. Coz I realised health is being present for the people you love

Watching someone dear slip away right in front of you...
When it could have been avoided.. if they had only listened to the signs & symptoms their body was giving them...
Everyone was left saying..If only he had done this... if only he had done that...
That 'if only' gave me a reason to hope... a resolve to never take health for granted.
Not just because you are the one who suffers..but because an entire family suffers behind you.

I grew up in a humble tribal village 30 km outside of Ooty. We had this massive beautiful waterfall.
Now, I was a pretty lazy guy, but I had this recurring delusion that if I just scaled to the top of that mountain, I’d discover I possessed elite royal genetics.
I was certain my ancestor was a legendary warrior-king who was backstabbed by family, and that my destiny awaited.
To build the functional strength and core stability required for my royal bloodline, I skipped yoga and gym and went straight to deadlifting massive, temple-sized boulders by the river.
Unfortunately, my epic hero’s journey hit a major roadblock on day one: a massive L4-L5 disc bulge.
Turns out, not only don't I have warrior-king genetics yet, but rather I have IT-worker genetics.
While on strict bed rest, the dream came to me again. The prophecy shifted. It told me that before I can scale the mountain, I must first wear a special kind of smart ring that will grant me superpowers to understand myself. Only then can I face my elusive final battle.
I am ready for my destiny. Are you in the journey, @LoopHealthHQ?
