You’re shocked seeing this because it happened on national TV, when you didn’t expect it. But what if I told you it happened on sidelines across America at the high school level five times this summer that an athlete collapsed? #athletesATrisk

Thank you to our Sports Medicine Advisory Committee for their time today. And a very special thank you to those rotating off the committee. We all know the challenge the last two years have been and this group was right there the whole way providing guidance.

I couldn’t be more proud to have served on this great committee! The SMAC is made up of sports medicine professionals, coaches, school administrators and school nurses. The goal is to ensure the safety of the student-athletes that are participating in a KSHSAA sponsored activity.
