1/ I want to say this carefully and respectfully: this is not about arguing with Liv’s mother.
She knew Liv far better than any of us ever could. If she says “Astroid” began as a spelling mistake, I respect that.
What I’m saying is narrower:
“Astroid” appears to be the original handwritten name Liv herself left behind, while “Asteroid” seems to be the later standardized public version.

Which do you think is more likely?
Liv who adored mathematics and space:
1) Named the Shiba after the "Astroid" mathematical equation that when plotted, forms a star shape with 4 sharp points and originates from a greek word meaning 'star' which also coincides with the logo of @PolarisProgram
or
2) Named it after some random space rock with no other back story of meaning behind it (asteroid)?
The more you look into it, the more you realise there was never a spelling mistake.
The name Liv chose always had a deeper meaning and connection to the two things she loved the most @elonmusk & Space.
