given the systemic precarity of most arts work, institutional memory is something most music labour spaces struggle with, esp. on longer timelines. as i took on a greater role within an established arts series, this story was one of the most centring projects i took on last year
Speaking to the teams behind @everyseekerfest,
@musicgalleryTO, and @SappyFest, @Tom_Beedham learns about how longstanding organizations in Canadian music are thinking about the power and challenges of institutional memory.

Seven people have donated since we launched this campaign last night. Thank you! Let's keep the momentum going and reach the $8K goal by the end of the week.
Dear readers, for us to be able to publish our next issue at the end of March, we need to raise $8K.
You've been super supportive since we launched in 2022, donating over $50K collectively.

Tonight in Allan Gardens, I'll be bringing a different energy than I usually do, which is normally supporting #encampment residents in the park as a community worker; instead, I'll be DJing in the Conservatory at 8:20 pm onward! Come out and come early, space is limited!

I'm gonna be facilitating a "cozy chat"TM with @newfeelingcoop tomorrow on building ideal music/arts communities—come thru!
Arts orgs across the province are grappling with reduced core funding and glaring precarity, so our first event of this season will be a little different. Come out next Friday to talk futures with us, @musicgalleryTO, @newfeelingcoop, and @venusfest_!

Tonight we play a show. Grateful to be invited back to @LongWinterTO. It's a special event!
Come to the show? If you already have plans I understand but if you don't have plans I do not understand. I think it's weird if you don't have plans and don't come to the show.
