France burned on Saturday. Nationwide protests over the cost of living and failing public services drew hundreds of thousands of people, then turned into riots, arson, and looting. This is the predictable result of years of wasteful spending and weak leadership. The Interior Ministry put turnout near 550,000, with about 110,000 in Paris. In Limoges the historic town hall was set on fire and largely destroyed. In Lyon the tourist office burned. Protesters forced their way into city halls in Marseille and Lille and vandalized them. Dozens of shops were looted. Hundreds were arrested. Dozens of police officers were injured. This didn’t happen by accident. France has spent years pouring money into programs and priorities ordinary people never asked for while basic costs rose and public services declined. That includes large sums spent on people in the country illegally. The frustration is real and people took to the streets in protest. Leftist groups then used the marches as cover for organized chaos. Masked radicals set fires, attacked buildings, and looted businesses while the main protests gave them the crowd and the distraction. Macron condemned the violence and said the people who burned and smashed will be prosecuted. That doesn’t change the pattern, especially when many of those prosecuted don’t care if they face consequences and rarely face real ones. Policy failures create the anger that leads to the initial protests, then the hard left turns legitimate complaint into street destruction. Peaceful protest is one thing. Burning a town hall and stripping stores is criminal disorder. France keeps repeating the same cycle and the damage keeps getting worse. The problem starts with policy and gets leveraged by leftist activists to bring destruction to the West. This was all predictable. In October 2023 Elon Musk wrote, “If current trends continue, civil war in Europe is inevitable.” In 2024 during the UK riots he repeated, “Civil war is inevitable.” Earlier this month he called the French protests “a slow invasion” and said those who support it “are traitors who deserve the fate of all traitors.” Musk has repeatedly pointed to mass immigration and the resulting demographic and cultural shifts as the cause. I agree with Musk. Mass migration has been used as a tool by anarchists to destabilize society by draining resources from citizens that globalist leaders willingly hand over to people who entered illegally. It’s similar to what Joe Biden did in America. The solution is stopping the policy that created the conditions. But the people of France keep electing the same poor politicians. These riots are the fault of the voters. They voted poorly. It’s up to them to vote in a way that stops this from happening again. The same thing could happen in any Western country, including America, if illegal immigration is allowed to reach a breaking point where resources for citizens are heavily siphoned for people who are not here legally. This is all predictable. Musk has used his platform for years to call it out, and that remains an important part of ending the chaos driven by mass migration, failed policy, and the riots that follow.
