Trash take. Conner and Ripley spent much of their time on screen being terrified, getting their ass kicked, and running. When they really firmed up it was to protect children. It was maternal ferocity, their lethality learned in fits and starts from the men in their lives. They are the exact opposite of the Mary Sue girl boss. They are complex, flawed, interesting characters who overcome their inate weakness to rise to the occasion and fight to survive and protect others, distrincly as women.
