Where is your sense of social justice @EalingCouncil Cllr @_petermason Cllr @WallLauren @londoncouncils @LondonLabour ? Taking away a huge amount of precious free green space from Ealing's low income young people and replacing it with a semi permanent expensive ticketed eyesore?
Labour-run Ealing Council @EalingCouncil is facing mounting anger over plans for a temporary 1,200-seat Troubadour theatre in Walpole Park. Petitions, leaflets and a protest are now planned amid concerns over the park, wildlife, public access and a lack of prior community engagement. A Troubadour site plan seen by EALING NEWS dates from April 2024 – more than two years before the plans were made public. ealing.news/arts-culture/bac…

Hi @x @tom_watson is a Labour Lord paid by @PalantirTech - meaning he should be highlighting his post as paid promotion. Failure to do so violated X’s rules and should lead to a suspension from X
Later today protesters will demand ‘No Palantir in our NHS’    While they protest, someone, somewhere will get an operation scheduled earlier, a cancer diagnosis quicker, a loved one home from hospital sooner - thanks to the software that those protesters would switch off.   Here is what you won’t hear. Trusts using the software have recorded: • 117,000 additional operations • 14.3 per cent reduction in discharge delays for long stay patients • 5.6 per cent improvement in the number of people receiving a cancer diagnosis within 28 days     As a more articulate person once said: ‘certain facts, although in a sense known to be true, are inadmissible.’

In life be a @RichardBurgon not a @tom_watson
My solidarity with everyone joining the protests today to kick Palantir out of our NHS. As I said in Parliament recently: from serious concerns over its handling of patient data to its human rights record, this US tech giant should have no role in our NHS.

Hi Tom, NHS consultant here. The NHS is supported by impressive, innovative and ground breaking technologies provided by a wide range of outstanding multinational corporations. It is a false dichotomy to suggest to people that if we want good health care, we must align with genocide supporting organisations like Palantir. Hope that helps. Niz

Disabled and amputee children injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza are unable to get new wheelchairs, because Israel is refusing to allow them in. We spoke to 8-year-old Layan Asaliya, who urges Israeli authorities to let wheelchairs in.

I can’t remember being more disappointed by any politician. @andyburnham needs to abolish the House of Lords. It’s a vector for corruption. Because that’s what this is. A pay-to-play capture of a UK lawmaker by Silicon Valley’s worst firm.

I looked into the billionaire stadium owners who pressured Ed Sheeran to cancel Macklemore and found they were all financially linked to the Israeli military. It is bigger than Robert Kraft.

Ed Sheeran should be reminded of Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s words: “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor”
Macklemore is speaking out after being dropped from Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour, seemingly placing blame on New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, saying that the billionaire rallied other stadium owners to ban him from performing at their venues: “Ed is my friend. I've known him for 13 years.... I told Ed multiple times on the phone, our friendship can't change my responsibility to tell the truth about what happened [in Gaza]... Ed told me that Robert Kraft called him. We were scheduled to play Gillette Stadium later this month, which is owned by the Kraft Group. Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium. Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues.... Ed was in a fucked up position. He knew it. His typical apolitical stance was being challenged in a way it never had been before. He told me that the words 'Free Palestine' and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood. But he couldn't get past his public facing, 'I don't take sides'.... I hope this isn't the end of my relationship with Ed. Thirteen years of friendship doesn't disappear because of one painful disagreement. I hope we both continue listening, studying what is happening in Palestine and wrestling with what neutrality means in a moment like this. My door will always be open to continuing that conversation.... I didn't need 10 shows from Ed. I needed 2. Two chances to stand in front of 90,000 people and say the words that somehow became too dangerous to say. Free Palestine. But if those words cost me the stage, while turning the conversation back to Palestine, then it was the most successful tour I've ever been on.” variety.com/2026/music/news/…

"Fury as NSPCC say male teachers can supervise girls in changing rooms Male teachers will be allowed to supervise female pupils while they get changed at swimming pools or sports centres under new NSPCC guidance for schools. The child protection charity has removed a policy that adults supervising pupils while they change should be the same sex as the children from its latest safeguarding briefing. Campaigners and MPs last night called on the NSPCC to reinstate the policy, and accused the charity of making the change under pressure from transgender activists. The NSPCC's previous long-standing policy said: 'Adults who are supervising children getting changed should be of the same gender as them.'" dailymail.com/news/article-1…
