Locunity monitors 200 government commissions across the US. 31,000 processing jobs a month. Only two people.
A failed job here means wrong intelligence landing in a Fortune 50 inbox.
"I'm willing to invest in reliability. That's non-negotiable," says Dev Iyer, Locunity's CTO.

We've been heads down building @Locunity to provide mission-critical intelligence for top F500 government affairs teams, newsrooms, and advocacy organizations.
Reliability is non-negotiable for us. We monitor hundreds of government commissions across the United States and process 31,000 jobs a month and 4.5TB of video and documents a week. Render makes it easy to isolate services, instrument them properly, and root cause a failed job in minutes.
Thanks @render (cc @anuraggoel) for featuring our work and powering the next generation of infrastructure to scale our democracy! 🚀

1,800 local newspapers have closed since 2004. Your city council kept meeting. We kept watching.

Overall crime in San Francisco is down 32% year-to-date, but homicides surged to 10 from 3 last year, a 233% increase driven by close-range shootings.
The homicide spike contradicts otherwise historic crime declines and has prompted community anxiety, especially after a juvenile-involved shooting death in a residential neighborhood.

After 6 months of building w/ @dev1yer, it's great to see our work @Locunity making a difference already. With 2 news pilots, 3 org partnerships and 50 premium subscribers (many more in the pipeline to announce soon), we're just getting started. In 2026, our goal is to build the civic platform for local media, governments, leaders and residents everywhere — with trusted, shared information we can all agree upon, and act upon.

Grateful to be among this remarkable, slightly intimidating group of @SAIFVC founders dedicated to building AI that is safe, reliable, and just. 2026 is going to be a wild year -- it's all our jobs to write a good ending for the story of AI. We all have agency (and some of us have agents). Let's use it (them?) for good. More from @gralston: geoffralston.substack.com/p/…

The only real-time 911 feed for SF is via the Citizen App. And they charge you for it.
So I built an open-sourced alternative at a hack night:
✓ Live dispatches from 911 calls in real-time
✓ AI call summary based on police codes
✓ Sensitive locations auto-redacted
✓ All from official SF gov open data
What’s CEQA — and why you should still care?
CEQA (the California Environmental Quality Act) requires governments to study and disclose environmental impacts before approving projects.
Sounds technical. But it’s not just paperwork. And it can make or break projects.
Why it matters:
• CEQA determines what gets studied — traffic, noise, air quality, displacement
• “Exemptions” can let major projects move forward with limited public review
• Comment periods are often the only chance residents have to flag real impacts
Tip: If a project is labeled “CEQA-exempt” or “negative declaration,” check why. Public comments (even short ones) become part of the legal record. But watch out, state legislation is exempting more and more projects to address the housing crisis, so monitor this space!

#ElCerrito — Tune in to the State of the City to see what's coming in 2026, which many predict to be a tough budgetary year.
#SanFrancisco — Supervisors are voting on final passage of a 10-year extension of the #cannabispolicy business tax suspension, after years of slumping revenue. This would give a helping hand to cannabis stores while reducing revenue.
#ContraCostaCounty — Supervisors are considering how to address federal changes to Medicaid (Medi-Cal) that will impact Contra Costa residents, and whether to change eligibility rules for the County’s Basic Health Care program.
