ICE shot a DoorDash driver in the back of the neck, denied him basic medical care, and now they want to deport him before he can testify about what happened. The government shouldn’t be allowed to shoot you from an unmarked vehicle and then cover it up. Wilber Garcés Perez must be released immediately to a doctor, and ICE needs to get the hell out of Austin.

ICE wants your local police to do its dirty work. 287(g) Agreements, often voluntary unless your state law requires them, turn local cops into ICE agents, instilling terror in our communities. The good news: local electeds can stop it. 🚫 Link to the toolkit in our bio!

Gloria Steinem transformed how the world sees women—and how women see themselves. I first met her as student working on ‘The Vagina Monologues’ at Notre Dame. Her calm fearlessness, audacious calls to action, and ability to name the beauty and struggle of women’s lived experiences shaped my life. I’m grateful to have known her, to have learned from her, and to have witnessed her insistence that women deserve the freedom to define their lives on their own terms. Her legacy lives on in all of us who continue the work of building a more just and feminist world.
