Mr. Johnson, you can't tax your way to prosperity. I spent much of my childhood standing in lines for bread and other basic needs. I know firsthand that redistributing existing wealth instead of creating more of it doesn't make people better off. It only leads to more people depending on government handouts to survive. Your job is to keep Chicagoans safe, the streets clean, the public transportation safe and reliable, and the schools focused on teaching children how to think, not what to think. You should be making Chicago a place where businesses want to invest, create jobs, and grow. You should be making it a place where people thrive and want to raise their families. I've seen little progress on any of this since you became mayor.
