Steve captured the spirit and the will essential to the fight for justice, and did so with generosity, grace and a warm smile for those he worked with. I am deeply saddened by his passing, but grateful for his friendship and the example that he set for those that follow.
On Mar 1, 2022 BAC & the labor movement lost a friend and a champion in Steve Nelms, BAC Director of Organizing. Our hearts go out to Steve's family and we will honor his legacy as he would want. "Don't waste anytime mourning. Organize!" #RestInPower Steve.

The labor movement, the AFL-CIO and the nation lost a legend today - and I lost a dear friend. Rich Trumka devoted his life to working people, from his early days as president of the UMWA to his unparalleled leadership as the voice of America’s labor movement.

Rich was a relentless champion of workers’ rights, and even as we mourn his passing today, we will stand on his shoulders to continue the fight for workers, and for the fair and just society he believed in so passionately. We will honor his legacy with action.

It had to be said. Our Republican colleagues are busy talking about Dr. Seuss when they should be working with us to help the American people.

The President basically gave these people a pre-game pep talk. We cannot ignore that this act of domestic terrorism was brought on by his incendiary comments and behavior.

215,000 Americans are dead. Millions are out of work through no fault of our own. Your failure to lead, @senatemajldr McConnell, is not funny. It’s criminal. And we are going to hold you accountable.

The HEROES Act has been sitting on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s desk since May 15. This legislation deserves immediate action so we can preserve jobs and paychecks, homes and pensions, public services and health care—and above all, save lives. @AFLCIO

Replying to @PHLCouncil
@PHLCouncil likes to pass new labor laws. But how about enforcing the safety rules already on the books? @IBEW98 posts this video of injuries at dangerous residential construction sites: youtube.com/watch?v=_isNRDvd…
