Here’s the process for getting assistance on UK trains. You show up at the station and ask for assistance. Staff assist you to the platform and train, and check your journey details like connection and destination. They then contact those stations so there will be someone there.

Happy 7th birthday to my amazing Guide Dog, Ziggy, and all her amazing siblings! I’m so lucky to have this life changer by my side, keeping me out of harms way. Hopefully she will continue to do so for a few more years to come.

Today I was discriminated against! La Croissanterie told me to leave because I had a dog with me. When I explained that she is a guide dog and it is illegal to refuse me service the owner attempted to usher me out the door and said they had a no dog policy. @HeadingtonNews 1/2

Mum was invited by @guidedogs to attend an accessible Christmas grotto. She was so excited because it meant that she was able to experience the visit with Mimi properly. As you can see, I enjoyed having some fuss from the big man himself!! #GuideDogs #Accessibility

We spent yesterday with two amazing friends & their families. Meet @LizzieCapener who is an enormous musical talent & @Darren_Paddick who makes sure newly visually impaired people get the help & support they need. I’m so pleased to have these wonderful people in my life!
Amit stands in an open park, he is wearing a blue and white checked shirt with maroon shorts. He has his arm around the woman next to him who is Lizzie, a white woman with long platinum blonde hair worn down and a vintage style blue and white checked dress with a wide belt. Beside them are their respective guide dogs - a caramel retriever cross called Ziggy next to Lizzie and white Labrador Kika next to Amit. Both dogs are smiling with tongues out. Oh and Amit and Lizzie are both wearing bunny ear headbands on their heads and rocking them!
