@HMRCcustomers Expensive car supplement For new electric vehicles with a list price exceeding £40,000, you will now need to pay the expensive car supplement from the second tax payment onwards. This applies to vehicles registered on or after 1 April 2025. I need this clarifying.

If I buy a new electric car (£41k) in September 2024, will it be exempt from Expensive car tax for its first year only or for all of its first 6years as it will be registered prior to April 1st 2025?
