Here’s a simple way to transform your live poker win rate to a point where you’ll wonder if it’s even fair.
The first step is to join me on Saturday to learn how to crush multiway pots with a simple repeatable thought framework.

As I’m going through the most challenging part of my life so far, it is so nice to receive comments like the below on YouTube.
Observation #5
A big leak I saw playing 1/3 in Vegas: People don't value bet enough.
I watched a player check back 2 pair on the river because a backdoor flush had completed after both opponents had checked every street.
You need to value bet if you want a decent hourly.
Observation #4
One thing I noticed playing 1/3 for a week in Vegas:
3-betting light is overrated in soft live games.
I had a player call my 3-bet out of position with A8o.
And even when you 3bet a reg, someone will cold call the 3-bet.
Observation #3: Bluffing
You can bluff people at 1/3.
But you have to be selective.
In Vegas, most of the bluffs I saw were badly chosen: too small, in the wrong spots, against players who weren't going to fold.
At low stakes, good bluffing starts with good observation.
Observation #2
One of the strangest things I saw playing 1/3 in Vegas:
You can get bluffed by people who aren't actually bluffing.
I folded A4 on an Ace-high board to a triple-barrel.
He showed KK.
When you play vs very weak players, you sometimes have to call much lighter.
I played 1/3 for a week in Vegas.
Observation #1
The biggest lesson:
Table selection matters more than ever.
Half the games were full of nits and passive limpers.
A few were great.
The difference in potential win rate between those tables was enormous.
So find the game.
For the rest of my Vegas trip I’ll play like everyone else: I’ll hold on for dear life with top pair.
If they bet 3rd pair on a flush completing river (which they absolutely do), I’ll call with my top pair.
Why do people triple barrel KK on A high boards in Vegas?
I’ve seen this a few times this week, and I just folded AX to the triple barrel thinking he must have me beat.
Is that normal in the US? I had never seen that before.
Maybe it’s just a Vegas thing, maybe it’s variance, but there a lot more women playing poker here than I’m used to.
At the 3/5 at the Venetian right now, the split is 50/50, and at 1/3 there is at least one woman at every table.
Nice to see this.
Something weird happened today.
I folded QQ after a guy 4bet shoved for 200bb against me.
Turns out he had JJ.
So I made a bad fold, but he would have stacked me because he hit a set.
Would you be sad that you got bluffed or happy you made the bad fold and kept your chips?
Guy tells me he doesn’t understand why people chase better games.
“All the games I play are great.”
Well, yeah.
You’re the good game.
At 1/3 nobody bets for thin value.
I’ve seen players check back sets in heads up pots when the backdoor flush came in.
But they will accidentally bet for thin value.
A guy called preflop with KK, then triple barrel donked small on AJX, and yours truly paid him off with JX.
Just flopped 2 pair against the biggest nit at the table.
When the flush comes in, I bet for thin value.
She hums and hos, tanks, looks distressed.
A minute later she shoves all her chips in the middle.
I wonder what she had.
It amazes me to see how many players in Vegas plan to limp-raise their premiums in games where hardly anyone raises.
I’ve faced 3 such limp-raises in 4 hours, although I’m the only raising, and I play less than 20% of hands.
Do people realize how much variance they add to their win rate through bomb pots?
PLO is much higher variance than NL
Two boards multiply that variance
Playing 2 of hands per hour means it’ll take about 150 million years to offset that variance
I know, no one cares, but still
