Took over 250yrs to globally warm 1C in 2015 🔥 Then it took ~10yrs to warm .5C in ~2025 🔥👀 We've basically warmed ~2C in 200yrs. This is 20x+ faster than the warming during an interglacial 👀 2C over 4000yrs. During the last interglacial, 15k yrs ago, sea levels rose MORE than 1ft per DECADE at times for CENTURIES👀 Get ready for gobsmacking SLR in the near future 🌊👀
#FOTW Daily Post 16 Sea-level now rising at ~1cm every 2y with a doubling rate that could be as short as 10y 😕 Small numbers getting much bigger soon 1.2 billion people forecast to be at risk within 25y Well on our way back to the Pliocene - sea-level eventually up 15-25m

Eco-Hero- working without fanfare to help wildlife. 😢💔💓🦧🦧🙌💟
We spend an enormous amount of time talking about the very worst of us, so let's remember some of the best. This is Dr Karmele Llano Sanchez, a Spanish veterinarian rescuing orangutans from the wildfires in West Kalimantan. No AC or mod cons for wildlife rescuers and veterinarians working in the most challenging conditions in the field, often facing real danger with great courage. Eight orangutans have recently been treated and released, but the suffering witnessed has taken its toll on her team. Most people don't even know her name—she couldn't care less about that—but I do. People like her are true heroes, and we should know who they are.

System is definitely broken and needs reinvention.
The Earth doesn't need saving. It needs defending. From an economic system that profits from its destruction. #ClimateJustice

Some high-ranking individuals on this planet have no grasp of what is actually unfolding. Our climate system has only responded by 25% to the impending El Niño, and we know that another eight months of very abrupt temperature increases lie ahead. Maybe even more. @turkiyecop31

Once it is obvious, everyone will say: of course, warming has accelerated. But reality is most denied it or dowplayed it for long time. – at Moravany, Česká republika
Vindication of Hansen et al.: "The rate of global warming appears to have accelerated, rising from ∼0.05°C/decade between 1880 and 1970 to ∼0.19°C/decade between 1970 and 2010, and finally to ∼0.36°C/decade between 2010 and 2024 [...] The acceleration may be partly related to reductions in aerosol pollutants that previously masked a portion of greenhouse gas warming (@DrJamesEHansen et al. 2025)." Rectifications by media and certain vociferous scientific voices are in order.

It's not just the classic EV leaders. Several markets saw a rapid acceleration in the adoption of fully electric vehicles (BEVs) following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz in March. For instance, Australia's BEV sales jumped 136% compared with the previous six months.
