It's true. He really was at a Celine Dion concert. You couldn't have written this better. He doesn't give a single damn. When Rome was burning what does folklore say Nero was doing? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I appreciate the parallels with biology
interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works already-clean.goodfire.com/

Evolution is in some sense one of the most moral places for behaviour to come from

I just swam naked in an onsen, washed while sitting on a little chair, got a pajama set from my hotel, ate a water flavored ice cream and a little sour soba and drank pocari sweat. I'm so good I can't even express it. I wish more people tried enjoying life.

This trader built a two-sided inventory bot on Polymarket with an average trade size of $10.51 Result: +$306,781 His algorithm trades 15 minute BTC and ETH Up/Down markets using asynchronous pairing, volatility harvesting, and inventory management: 1. Buys both sides at different times It keeps BUY limit orders open on both sides and waits for the market to move BTC falls -> Up gets cheaper -> it buys Up Then BTC rebounds -> Down gets cheaper -> it buys Down 2. Uses volatility to build complete sets It alternates between buying the two outcomes when their prices dip, using volatility within each market The goal is to buy both outcomes for a combined cost below $1 per pair 3. Keeps a directional residual About 86% of the shares it buys can be matched into Up + Down pairs It holds the remaining shares as a directional position until resolution Its Polymarket account: aswfadq1555 You can build your own trading bot here: join.horizon.trade/retrovali… (A trial is available after signing up) Stats: > Trades per active hour: 324 > Average trade size: $10.51 > Win rate: 50% The algorithm’s main edge comes from volatility harvesting. It uses market movements to buy Up and Down at different times, then matches part of its inventory into complete sets and keeps the rest directional

People don't understand Napoleon's insane IQ. Napoleon once spotted a shipment of boots missing in an army of 500,000 troops. Napoleon once recalled 2 cannons missing from formation of 500 of them. Napoleon would read for 12 hours straight on the most abstruse subjects. Napoleon had a custom library designed to take with him on campaign. Napoleon would dictate and read letters while taking baths. Napoleon would kick his counselors awake when they started falling asleep at 2 in the morning. You are very likely not operating at Napoleon's level. When you study the greats of history you really realize the true level of genius that these people operate at.

People say that Jeff Bezos met his first wife by asking around about “please introduce me to a woman who could get me out of a third world prison if necessary” and like I totally get this. My kingdom for a partner who would respond to the news that I was in a third world prison, not by being like “what has this headstrong lady gotten herself into” but instead by just being like *sigh, roll up sleeves* “okay how are we getting her out”

I made this with one prompt using Opus 5.5 I spoke to my computer for 5mins, claude worked for 12 hours, and I woke up to this full prompt:
