Yeah, it used an AI powered program they wrote, trained on libraries THEY made specifically for it to aid with a very tedious part of animating. It's not generative AI. When will people learn that the problem is generative AI and not AI-powered/assisted tools?

Roblox seriously needs to be under investigation for allowing so many direct copies of Steam games and allowing scammers for earning money for it
It’s a scary time for indie devs. maybe it’s best to hide games until they’re done. But I love our community. I love talking with you all, sharing our progress, discussing ideas. You’re all part of the team. So if we’re punished getting cloned, I hope you guys will have our backs

Agreed Tim! If you are using Generative AI let everyone know! Shout it from the rooftops. This is why the Steam AI disclosure is so important. We all want to know you are using GenAI and then we can all avoid playing those games 🥰

Developers who are getting value from AI should speak up. There's safety in numbers. MOST developers are doing it and loving it - and if they're not talking about it it's mostly out of fear for haters attacking them, their product, and their company.

At this point Roblox needs it's own version of Google v. Viacom where they're forced to put in a copyright removal system and remediation for money earned from plagiarism. Either that or deal with actual IP lawsuits which are a lot more costly.
Already on roblox, Lets see how this performs 🫡🤑

Even if you hide your super cool high-concept game idea and shadow drop the release, people will still be faced with the decision to either spend money on yours or to just vibe clone their own version by asking chatbbt High-concept single-player games are in real danger here
Building in public is dead. An indie dev shared an early preview of his game where you punch walls incrementally to escape. It hit 4.7M views. Within 25 hours, a copy was already live on Roblox. His Steam page isn't even up yet, and the clone will probably outearn him.

We are here. I fear there will be no empathy even from those who are anti-AI because your game is seen as unworthy if AI can clone it. "It wasn't much of a game to begin with."
This sucks cause indie devs showing what they were working on was a great way to market and build a community to support a launch. Now you have to worry about getting raced to market by AI snipers.

Not long ago there was no point in being secretive about your indie game dev ideas. But now it's so quick to clone a game with AI that devs are actively scared to share demos or details before launch. What a shitty time to be alive.

LOOKING FOR A 2D PIXEL ARTIST! Hey everyone! I’m looking for a talented 2D pixel artist to help bring The Blood of Champions: A New Fighting Era to life! I’m specifically looking for someone who specializes in RPG-style roaming animations, walking sprites, and detailed pixel art backgrounds and environments to help expand the world of our game. I’m planning to commission someone in the next few weeks, so if you specialize in this kind of work, I’d love to check out your portfolio! I’m excited to connect with artists and find the right fit for the project. Interested? Drop your portfolio in the replies or send me a DM! Retweets are greatly appreciated to help spread the word. No spams I will not reply! #PixelArt #PixelArtist #PixelArtCommission #CommissionsOpen #GameDev #IndieGameDev #IndieDev #GameArt #2DArt #2DAnimation #RPGMaker #RPG #BackgroundArt #EnvironmentArt #SpriteArt #SpriteAnimation #ArtistForHire #HiringArtists #TheBloodOfChampions

There's a reason Nintendo is the Yggdrasil of the game dev world.

I would strongly advise removing all payment methods linked to your EGS account if you use one. Them publicly announcing the new update was Vibe coded does not give me confidence to keep my card linked with it.
We vibe coded the Epic Games Launcher to be faster than the other guy. Don't believe us? Test it out for yourself in Preview: launcher.epicgames.com

To be honest, I think my drive to paint, draw and make music is greater than ever. The thing is, I always suffered from a measure of self-doubt — and emergence of AI gave me a new sense of worth. My creations may not be the best in the world, but they're MINE.

It's pretty common knowledge that the staff at Epic are MISERABLE at the moment. Not one of them asked for this. And the fact that he needs AI to build "more" after laying off 1000 talented workers is fucking insane. Fuck this ghoul-faced dweeb.
We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic, moving developers around to retool for maximum AI acceleration. The aim isn't to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff, and to bring the benefits to all teams using Unreal.

5 months vs 3 YEARS It's crazy to look back and see how much the game evolved over time and how much I learned! Thank you for all of the support throughout the years! 💜
