Ferragosto is a national holiday in Italy, celebrated every year on August 15, and it dates back all the way to 18 BC
It was created by Emperor Augustus as the Feriae Augusti, a day of rest after the long agricultural season
Later, the Catholic Church adopted the date and associated it with the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
Today, Ferragosto is all about unplugging, relaxing, firing up the barbecue, and truly embracing the dolce far niente
Millions of Italians leave the hectic city life behind and head to the sea or the mountains to relax and enjoy time with friends and family

What does it take to safely fly seven beluga whales across North America?
A carefully coordinated journey moving through Canada's largest airport.
The trucks arrive at Toronto Pearson carrying seven beluga whales, each safely secured in a specialized, temperature-controlled transport units.
One by one, the transport units are carefully transferred onto a high-loader before being gently lifted into a dedicated cargo aircraft.
Every movement is meticulously choreographed, with veterinarians and animal care specialists monitoring the whales throughout the journey to ensure their well-being.
From wheels down to wheels up, Toronto Pearson's teams worked alongside our partners to support this extraordinary international rescue mission, coordinated by Intradco Global on behalf of a collective of AZA-accredited aquariums.
We're proud to have played a role in the rescue of these remarkable animals. 🐋

The carnivore-not carnivore raw milk guy and the wellness protein bar industry are yet again scamming you.
Apart from the clickbait of grass-fed and beef tallow, and pretending added sugars in the form of coconut nectar and honey is uniquely good for you... this bar shouldn't really be counted as 20g of protein.
The tip off is 20g from a blend that is whey and collagen. Collagen is a poor quality protein, with a protein score of zero. They don't disclose how much protein is in the formulation from collagen but we can derive it using the daily value, which has to be corrected for protein quality. The %DV is derived using 50g per day of protein as the goal, meaning .24*50= 12g quality protein.
That's the ~amount of protein in 1/2c of greek yogurt or a Rx bar. Except these bars are 5.75$ each
