Robotics is next. According to PitchBook data shared by a16z, both the number of robotics deals and total investment dollars are starting to climb. That's a big deal. The AI trend is shifting from software smarts to physical smarts. LLMs were the first big hit. AI data centers built out the groundwork. Robotics could be the next big demand driver. The cool thing is that many companies tied to AI data centers also have connections to humanoid robotics. Memory is one example. Humanoids will need DRAM and NAND for local decision-making, storage, sensor data and edge AI tasks. Photonics is another. DFB lasers and optical parts can be key for FMCW LiDAR, vision and sensing setups. Then there's also: actuators sensors gearboxes bearings power semis MLCC connectors thermal systems Right now, most public-market exposure is still via upstream parts or robotics projects inside big firms like $AMZN and $TSLA. There aren't many pure humanoid plays yet. That's what makes the next stage exciting. If robotics investment is already hitting records in private markets, then the global IPO window from H2 2026 into 2027 could get really interesting for pure humanoid / robotics companies. The market may eventually get that AI doesn't stop with chatbots. It moves into factories. Warehouses. Cars. Homes. Robots. Physical AI might be the next big addition to the AI spending cycle.

$SHA0 Schaeffler is probably the textbook case of how car parts companies can quietly turn into humanoid robot suppliers. On paper, it's still a European auto firm. Roughly €7.5B market cap. Car industry exposure. Debt. Cyclical ups and downs. Not the kind of stock you'd immediately link to physical AI. But underneath, Schaeffler is already working with about 45 humanoid robot companies worldwide. That number is wild. The company covers a massive chunk of the humanoid parts list: bearings gearboxes sensors ECUs actuators power electronics For some robot designs, these parts could make up a huge portion of total cost. Schaeffler is also said to be aiming for roughly a 10% slice of that market. Yet management is only talking about a few hundred million euros in humanoid revenue by 2030. That feels super understated if Elon/Tesla-style market predictions are even roughly right. This is why I think some old auto suppliers might eventually get revalued as physical AI supply-chain players. Schaeffler in Europe. Nabtesco in Japan for precision joints. Sanhua in China for Tesla Optimus exposure. And likely a bunch of other boring suppliers nobody is watching yet. The trick is timing. Right now humanoids might still be 1% or less of revenue for many of these firms. So the market prefers the immediate bottlenecks: memory HBM MLCC optics power semis But once humanoids have a real downstream breakout moment, like a ChatGPT / Anthropic level event for robotics, the market will likely start repricing the whole chain. Auto suppliers with robot exposure could get a lot more interesting after 2027. I wouldn't be shocked if we eventually see some random “Toto-HBM” style surprise in humanoids. A boring old supplier suddenly becomes critical because one robot design wins. Physical AI might not just be a Tesla thing. It could be a supply-chain re-rating story.

so it looks like we finally know why meta signed those huge AI infrastructure deals with neoclouds like nbis back in march. and why gemini capacity got so tight. googl apparently limited meta's gemini capacity in march 2026 due to compute shortages. that's the key thing. meta didn't just turn to neoclouds for variety. it probably did because hyperscaler capacity just couldn't keep up. even google couldn't fully meet meta's needs. google's ceo also mentioned last earnings that compute limitations stopped google cloud from taking on more customer work, while backlog nearly doubled from the quarter before. that's not an AI demand issue. that's an AI capacity issue. and if even hyperscalers can't count on each other for model compute, then the AI data-center buildout is likely still too small. this is good news for the whole AI infrastructure spending cycle: neoclouds gpu capacity power cooling memory networking optics data centers the market keeps asking if AI spending is too high. but every new piece of info keeps showing the opposite: capacity is still not enough. $meta $googl $nbis
