People: How are you doing, Lisa?
Me: Amazing. I just spent the last half hour hugging the box that holds my motherās ashes while I sob uncontrollably.
Yupā literally hugged a box. Listenā if you want tips on how to grieve in a dignified and sexy wayā I am your girl!

Perhaps you also need something taken away from you: the feeling like you are in control.
Your list of problems could also be used for men.
Why am I still surprised by the hypocrisy? We also don't like when foreigners like your President make increasing threats to our Nation's sovereignty. Clean up your own house first!
Whoever authorized this Canadian ad using President Reagan to attack President Trump should be fired.
Americans donāt like it when foreigners try to influence domestic policy ā in fact, we hate it.
I love Canada because I love Canadians. They are wonderful, generous, kind people. And I mean that.
Canadians also deserve political leaders who donāt try and meddle in American politics.
Evangelical churchesā it has been 10 years since the TRC was published. Of the 94 calls to action related to reconciliation regarding residential schools, only 15 have been completed.
I am curious Pastors, leadersā have you been working on any of these?
Shortly before my Grandma passed away, she asked us to sing hymns with her. We were singing āHow Great Thou Artā and the 3rd verse about going to heavenāshe threw her hand up in praise. My cousin happened to capture it. Breaks me every time I hear that verse!

The verdict in the @HockeyCanada trial is deeply troubling. The Judge's comments show a shocking lack of understanding about how trauma impacts memory. This is why survivors do not come forward-- they risk public vitriol and shaming to what end? I see you all, I believe you!!!!
So excited about being a part of @ChildrnsCottage !!Such a great day!!

Let me say this again--people in abusive situations often choose to stay for very logical reasons. They are not being weak or foolish. If the systems do not protect you, not provoking more intense violence is a valid safety plan.
This is why victims of abuse and DV do not come forward. They know the cost. They know the systems of justice will not provide safety. Often they safety plan & determine the safest option is staying in the abusive relationship. Trying to get out actually increases their danger.

I keep hearing about the legalities and enough evidence. Of course I understand the importance of them and I am grateful that we value them in our system. It seems though that many times the victims voices are not heard as screams of evidence.
I am so discouraged by the Diddy verdict today. The jury could not understand why trafficked and abused women would stay in an abusive situation.
We have so much educating still to do. These high profile trials are why victims do not come forward.
Love to the victims!
I am reading an article today in the Washington Post about the P Diddy of it all. And this line that I screenshot stood out to me.
It stood out because we still fundamentally do no understand the dynamics of abuse-- particularly intimate partner violence. 1/
The justice and policing systems do not protect women. And as such, if the systems cannot protect them, often they feel their safest decision is to stay with the devil they know-- continuing to use their knowledge and influence to create as much safety as possible. 4/
