South Africans are laughing at the size of a Kenyan police station, so I went to look at what those skyscraper police stations are achieving.
40,475 reported rapes in one year. That is about 3,373 a month, 778 a week, 111 every day and nearly five every hour.
Basically, one reported rape every 13 minutes.
Maybe we should compare results, not buildings.

A woman went to report a defilement case involving her 14-year-old sister and a 50-year-old man. At the OB, she claims a female officer demanded Sh10,000 before the suspect could be arrested.
When she could not pay, she was told to leave or risk being locked up.

The danger facing the Ruto government is no longer just political criticism, because public distrust can become so deep that people begin questioning even genuine public health information coming from the State.
A Kenyan could genuinely contract Ebola, test positive in a properly equipped laboratory, and some people would still insist the machines were tampered with so the government could manufacture cases and attract more foreign funding.
That kind of suspicion is dangerous for any society, because once citizens stop believing official information on diseases, disasters, security threats or other emergencies, government warnings can lose their value exactly when people need to trust them most.
Whatever anyone thinks about Ruto politically, a country reaching the point where every official announcement is immediately treated as a possible scheme should worry everyone, because rebuilding public trust after it collapses is much harder than destroying it.
When a regime reaches this point, they have lost the people's trust and should RESIGN!

In a Kenya of 2026, no single institution of learning should look like this anywhere within the territory of the Republic of Kenya. It costs very little to dignify these young Kenyans. The land belongs to the children. Basics. Compassion. This is pure neglect, not marginalization. (Andingo Primary School in West Gem Ward, Rangwe constituency, Homabay, Nyanza). βοΈ

THIS is Salome Njeri, a 15-year-old girl who went missing on 14th June this year. She's is set to join form 3 next term. Her family did everything they could to find their daughter. They spent every day hoping and praying that they would be reunited with her and finally, she was found alive & healthy but with the beacon missing.
Their daughter was found with this Mumu man. While her parents were crying and searching for her every night, son of Adonija was busy supplying her with high voltage electricity without an iota of blackouts. Our boy will soon enjoy a free vacation at the govt owned Airbnb located in a gated community along Kamiti Rd.
Daughter Agrippina will receive kichapo Cha Umbwa msikitini then continues with her life normally while son of Adonija will be enjoying a free course meal & tight security catered by the state while wearing the Juventus Home Kit. Wanaume tulisema heri ukule Karo ya shule lakini si Karo wa shule.
As a man if you're fighting lust, we have many old women in their late 20s & 30s who are desperately looking for someone to measure their temperature within the ozone layer, wachana na watoto wa shule. May Yehova Wanyonyi remember our boy's Sundus because it's going to see wonders pale piriison. Chesaa!

When armed gangs can seize a major highway in broad daylight, extort motorists at gunpoint and disappear without consequence, the State is not merely failing; it is surrendering territory to criminals.
A public highway has effectively become a criminal toll station. Ordinary Kenyans are forced to negotiate with goons for the privilege of travelling on roads they already paid for through taxes.
Where is the Interior CS? Where are the police commanders? Where is the much-advertised intelligence apparatus? If the government can track political critics, deploy police to demonstrations and monitor citizens online, it should certainly be capable of stopping armed gangs from taking over highways.
This is not a public-relations problem. It is a failure of command.
The Interior CS and senior police leadership should resign. You cannot preside over the deterioration of public security, offer excuses after every incident and still pretend to be in control.
Let us be honest about where this is heading. A generation denied jobs, dignity and opportunity is increasingly vulnerable to criminal recruitment. When the legitimate economy shuts its doors, organised crime starts opening them.
A government that cannot guarantee a citizen safe passage on a public highway has forfeited the right to lecture Kenyans about security.
Kenya cannot normalise a country where criminals control the roads while the State controls press conferences.
Enough excuses. Enough impunity. Someone must take responsibility.
