“Do not compare, do not measure, there is no other path like yours.” - Carl G. Jung Carl Jung’s philosophy reflects his concept of individuation, the lifelong journey of discovering your true self and becoming a fully authentic individual. Jung believed that comparing your achievements and progress to others means measuring your life against standards that were never designed for you. Everyone has a unique psychological makeup, and following someone else’s path can lead to a life of imitation rather than genuine fulfillment. When you allow society’s expectations to dictate your direction, you risk losing touch with who you truly are. For Jung, real growth comes from looking inward, embracing your individuality, and discovering what gives your life meaning. Ultimately, your greatest responsibility is to follow your own path, even when it’s uncertain or unfamiliar. No one else has lived your exact journey, and no one else can discover who you are for you.

THIS AGED VERY WELL: I posted this 6.5 years ago at a time when people were laughing at any possibility of inflation. Time shows that I absolutely NAILED the onset of gold rush, inflation, rise in rates, social disorder, wars and government intruding into the economy. In fact, I have not seen or heard of a better prediction that stood the test of time for 6.5 years. Despite that, investing has been hard because markets are heavily manipulated.

Every last bone in my body was screaming at me to just get back into my warm bed. Remember I said "I still can't believe what I just saw" a couple of days ago? This is it. I knew there was a chance that there would be some Aurora but I definitely didn't expect a meteorite to come right through the scene. I couldn't go back to sleep I was so excited.

121 years ago today, Einstein mailed in arguably the most famous equation. On September 27, 1905, a 26-year-old Swiss patent clerk with dark, curly hair – years before he grew that signature nest of white hair – dropped three handwritten pages in the mail. The paper arrived at the offices of Annalen der Physik, a German scientific journal. It had no university title attached. But inside, an idea would forever change how we understand the universe: E = mc² Energy equals mass times the speed of light squared. That single equation revealed something astonishing – that mass and energy are not separate things. They are different forms of the same stuff. A tiny amount of matter can release an enormous amount of energy, because the speed of light squared is such a massive number. This one insight explained how stars shine, how atoms split, how nuclear bombs work, and what happened in the first seconds after the Big Bang, when energy and matter were constantly trading places. Without E = mc², we wouldn’t understand modern cosmology, nuclear energy, or even the chemistry of stars. Einstein would go on to publish four other groundbreaking papers that year – covering light, time, motion, and atoms. Physicists now call it his miracle year. But this one, mailed 120 years ago today, reshaped our understanding of reality itself.

Genghis Khan used "daughter diplomacy" as a powerful political strategy by marrying his daughters to the rulers of allied or buffer nations under strict, advantageous conditions.... Genghis Khan did not only build his empire with armies. He built part of its defenses with his daughters. As the Mongol Empire expanded in the early 13th century, Genghis Khan married several daughters into strategically important neighboring peoples. These were not merely ceremonial marriages. The alliances helped secure territories surrounding the growing Mongol realm. And the women could wield extraordinary power. When a daughter married an allied ruler, her husband became part of Genghis Khan's political and military network and could be required to join Mongol campaigns. While men went to war, imperial daughters could exercise authority over the territories and populations connected to their marriages. Some husbands never came home. Alakhai Beki, one of Genghis Khan's daughters, was married into the Onggud, whose territory guarded a crucial approach to Mongolia. After upheaval killed her husband and other members of the ruling family, she emerged as a powerful political figure and helped govern the region. Another daughter, Checheyigen, married into the Oirat and became influential among a people whose lands helped secure the empire's northwest. These women were positioned along the expanding empire's frontiers, creating a network of loyal territories around the Mongol heartland. Marriage was diplomacy. Military service bound their husbands to Genghis Khan. And his daughters could become the political authority left behind. Later histories devoted far more attention to Genghis Khan's sons and grandsons. But his daughters were not simply women exchanged to secure alliances. Some were governors, power brokers and guardians of the empire's borders. Genghis Khan conquered outward with his armies. His daughters helped hold what surrounded him. #archaeohistories

"Sea Peoples" who presumably caused the collapse of civilization at the end of Bronze Age were migrants of other countries, who wrecked all civilizations in 50 years; 1000 years of dark ages followed. 21st century version of Sea Peoples have arrived in Europe during the Syrian war, which was a consequence of post 9/11 wars.

12 Sept 490 BC: The #Athenian army defeats the invading #Persians at the Battle of Marathon. It is the first time the #Greeks defeated the Persians on land. If #Persia had defeated the #Greeks at Marathon, speculation is they would have conquered Greece. By securing this victory, #Athens protected its young #democracy and allowed the classical culture that shaped Western civilization to flourish. #History #OTD #ad amzn.to/309Yzbe

Libya’s NOC declares a state of maximum emergency in Zawiya following repeated drone attacks on oil facilities, including the Zawiya Refinery and Brega storage tanks. The latest attack caused a major fire and the collapse of a tank holding 4.5 million liters of gasoline. #libya

This jobs report shows what restrictive monetary policy looks like. Weak housing sector (from high long rates), weaker local government revenues, schools cut budget.

WTF? Main Stream Media reporting of the war is effectively zero: a) Saudi production was hit real hard in the recent days (never happened before). b) Jordan King escaped to UK as the first of the royal families to defect. c) Both Hormuz and Bob el Mandeb are closed to oil tanker transport (never happened before). d) Almost all Russian oil tankers on water were bombed by Ukraine. e) My guesstimate is that oil production/transport is now 30% less. Covid was -10% but only for a few months. 1970s was about -15% for a decade. We never had -30% for short or extended periods of time: new unintended extreme global experiment for economists, historians and climatologists, not that any one of them have the brains to recognize the MASSIVE ANOFUCKINGMALY playing out right now. The counterpart of -30% less oil consumption is something like -10% (or more) global GDP drop, 10% (or more) climb in unemployment. There could/will be some regional differences; China/Asia/EU will be hit very hard. US less so, in the short term. Eventually, we will all get screwed royally. When? Tough to tell… sooner or later! Destination is clear. Can it be avoided? I do not think so. Like... 0% chance, imo! Is the oil price or financial markets reflecting any of this bleak future? Nope... everybody is on Disneyland. What are they drinking?

BREAKING: New high-resolution satellite imagery shows major damage to the Abqaiq oil processing facility, the world's largest crude oil stabilization plant processing 7% of global oil supply, and a massive black plume of smoke rising following drone attacks, per Sentinel-2 imagery. Saudi Aramco has suspended all operations and triggered emergency flaring across multiple production sites.

WW2 TOOK 10 YEARS TO GO GLOBAL: Most people do not seem to realize that it took 10 years for WW2 to become global: starting from Japan attack on Manchuria in 1931 to Pearl Harbor attack in 1941. With Manchuria attack, the League of Nations, today's United Nation, dissolved. Indeed, we haven't heard anything from UN in a long time, apart from climate change. Then, between 1941 and 1945, there was full scale WW2, which also included simultaneous invasion of Iran by Brits and Russian in 1941 to get the oil. The same year, 1941, Hitler attacked Russia, to get Caspian Sea oil while sending Rommel along the northern coast of Africa, to get Middle East oil. Rommel ran out of gas and received a medal from Hitler instead. Russians defeated Germany and ended up in Berlin. HISTORY IS THE ONLY RELIABLE GUIDE TO THE FUTURE!
