We need peace in our city. ICE agents are making our city unstable and more dangerous. This federal occupation by ICE needs to end.

We cannot destroy our hometown. Please demonstrate peacefully, and do not give any opportunity for others to see your outrage as destruction.

I am outraged and angry today because again, another Minneapolis resident, Alex Pretti, was shot several times and killed by an ICE agent. In this moment, we need to channel our frustration and anger to continued peace and unity.

My thoughts are with the Hortman family and particularly their children. I also sincerely wish Senator Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, continued recovery in the wake of yesterday‘s tragedies.

The loss of Rep. Melissa Hortman is surreal & devastating. From my first venture into politics, I knew she was a leader, but I also saw her as an important role model. She was extremely hard-working & she was a mom, dedicated to improving the lives of Minnesotans & to her family.

Early Saturday morning, we were woken with the horrific news of a politically motivated murderer in our community.
