Not much more stressful during harvest than moving farm equipment down a Central Alberta highway on the weekend and having to make a left hand turn.
I’m old enough to remember if you broke a Deere cultivator shovel they would warranty it. They won’t do these. I’m thinking they are forging these fert knives in Princess Autos pry bar factory. You’ll never wear these out. They’ll break first.
Me making the decision to swath or straight cut canola this year. Swathing looked genius until the wind showed up tonight. Luckily many of my swaths are in the bin. My standing is not.

There’s a cool find. Must of been in the bin yard last night. Usually never end up with the matched set.
Want your canola to yield 784 bu/ac? Let the wind roll it up into big dog turds. I saw that number on the yield monitor so it counts.
Definitely stepping out of my comfort zone today and going against what I was taught to do. I’ll know in a couple weeks whether or not it was worth doing.
Proud of my young guy today. Learning how to drive the cart. Won’t be long and he’ll be telling me what to do.
As a guy that’s witnessed a spray plane crash where the pilot died I can’t say I’m real comfortable with this guy power turning over my yard as I’m working in the shop.
Deere dealer wanted $940 for this chopper guard. Cheap ass me says nope I’ll farmer weld it up a couple times first.
Was treated to an air show this morning over the house. Someone has more optimism than me spraying canola with this forecast.
