Today my baby talked about our Cheyenne culture to 3 kindergarten classes in a mix of Spanish/English. He told them that Natives are still here & no mama isn’t Pocahontas, she’s a professor 😂 & then we all round danced. F* I’m so proud. How did I get so lucky? #wearestillhere

Books are for everyone. Curriculums are for everyone. Class read alouds are for everyone. You simply don’t get to decide what all the other kids get to read. Because SCHOOL IS FOR EVERYONE, including kids like me who waited 33 years to see myself reflected in a book. ✌️

Lindale will be hosting it's annual Book Fair beginning Tuesday, May 31. Students will be visiting during the day through their classes (See the schedule below). All books are Buy One Get One Free, it's a perfect opportunity for Summer Reading. Tuesday 5/31 - ELA Classes only Wednesday 6/1 - Science Classes only Thursday 6/2 - Social Studies Classes only Friday 6/3 - ELA Classes only
