After a successful, fun and educational Year 10 trip to France, we have safely returned home. 🇫🇷🇬🇧
Mr Parrish presented rewards to all students in recognition of their impeccable behaviour throughout the trip. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them! 👏🏅 #Proud
🇫🇷 We're on our way back! In Calais, students were treated to a McDonald’s lunch courtesy of Mr Parrish before enjoying some free time to browse the shops for souvenirs and gifts. A great end to our French adventure! #SchoolTrip #Year10 #Calais
Today on our Year 10 France trip, we spent the day at Parc Astérix! 🌞🎢 Temperatures reached a scorching 37°C, but that didn’t stop us enjoying lots of amazing rides and making unforgettable memories. 🇫🇷 #ParcAsterix #FranceTrip #Year10
We then paid our respects at the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing before visiting Lochnagar Crater, a powerful reminder of the scale of the Battle of the Somme and WWI. #Somme #WW1 #HistoryTrip #Remembrance #Year10Trip
Yesterday, after a tasty lunch of fresh Brie and salad baguettes from the boulangerie, we visited the Musée Somme 1916 Underground Tunnel Museum in Albert 🇫🇷. In 34°C heat, the cool tunnels were a welcome escape and offered a fascinating insight into life on the Western Front.
The Ulster Memorial at Thiepval was the next stop. Students explored the history and sacrifice of the 36th (Ulster) Division during the Battle of the Somme before enjoying an ice cream to cool down in the heat! 🍦🌞🌺🇫🇷 #BattlefieldsTour #HistoryMatters #Somme #UlsterMemorial
The Battlefields Tour began with a visit to the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial. A moving and thought-provoking first stop, where they learned about the sacrifice of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment on 1 July 1916 and reflected on the human cost of war. 🌺🇫🇷
Today our Y10 trip students visited the Vimy Museum and Memorial, gaining a deeper understanding of the courage, sacrifice, and human cost of the First World War. A powerful and memorable learning experience. #VimyRidge #Remembrance #SchoolTrip

Alongside some flourishing grant funded projects in the #BellFoundry #PeopleZone, "residents were pleased that #PeopleZones had enabled street improvements like the alleyway clean-up, where a knife was recovered… there has not been a return to the same levels of #ASB as existed prior to the intervention"
The biggest issue for local residents remains drug & alcohol related crime, which is difficult to address. However with targeted Crimestoppers campaigns around cuckooing & county lines, alongside information around how to report crime, the aim is to empower residents to take more of a stand
Some of the greatest successes have been from thriving relationships with local schools, targeting the #health and #wellbeing of children, young people & their families
