Note to the rest of the world: The US government does NOT represent the American people.

Making a new COVID research thread bc this website is trash.
Part 2 of a working thread of published research on COVID 19. Every claim links to a real study. Published, peer-reviewed research from journals like Nature, The Lancet, BMJ, and Nature Medicine. Not speculation.

12 men own more than 4 billion people on Earth.
Your enemies are not on boats.
They are on yachts.

If democrats regain power, theyβll suddenly forget about all of this. Weβve seen this movie before.

When Dems get the majority in 2027, remember this:
Over the last 20 years, Democrats have had substantial control of the House and Senate, and even Trifectas for 8 of 20 years:
β’ The House: 8 years (2007β2011, 2019β2023).
β’ The Senate: 12 years (2007β2015, 2021β2025).
β’ Both chambers: 6 years (2007β2011, 2021β2023).
β’ Federal trifecta: 4 years, twice (2009β2011, 2021β2023).
Meaning they COULD have dismantled ICE, DHS, and the Patriot Act, as promised in 2006. We COULD have gotten Universal Healthcare. They could have put stopgaps to prevent the GOP from gaining so much control.
Instead, they leaned into passing neo-cons policies to "not alienate the right wing," or so they say. Truth is, many support those horrible policies and support oligarchy.
On top of that: Democrats controlled the U.S. House for 40 CONSECUTIVE YEARS, from 1955 to 1995, including under Republican presidents. The GOP could not have gained so much power without DNC complicity. So, when you hear the argument that "we don't have the power," ask yourself how the Republicans gained so much control under Democratic presidents. How was so much Heritage Foundation policy still passed while Dems held the majority?

REMEMBER THIS: The public execution is not about punishing the man. It's' about training the crowd.
Hey @NFLβ¦
Look at the comments, @MarkWarner and @timkaine. Can you offer us anything to encourage us to believe in you? Anything?
Please help us out here, @MarkWarner and @timkaine.
Does any Dems actually support @SenSchumer?
We the people must make it clear he has to go. It's not that hard to oust him. We need to push to get him voted out. Pass it on please.

Unpopular opinion: AI companies are pushing society to accept an unacceptable level of risk for a non-essential technology.

The Paramout surrender is a perfect distillation of Democratic politics:
1. Talk a big game
2. Fold despite having legal leverage and public opinion on their side
3. Empower conservative oligarchs who hate working people.
Great message to send right before the elections!

Just grateful that 2021-2024 was all about Infrastructure and Bipartisanship and NOT stopping the Fascist takeover.
The business as usual approach really worked out well.
I mean, where would we be today if we hadn't focused on "reaching across the aisle" with Insurgents?

There is zero Communist threat in the United States today.
Anyone who tells you there is one should be gently escorted to a wheelchair and taken promptly to some sort of hospitalization.
What we do have is the gravest *fascist* threat America has ever faced on home soil.

Forget left. Forget right.
Those words are doing the most important job in the American political system right now, and that job is not representation.
That job is distraction.
While you are arguing about abortion and guns and pronouns and immigration, the things they have carefully selected for you to argue about, the people on both sides of that argument own the same stocks, attend the same conferences, send their children to the same schools, vacation on the same yachts, and occasionally appear on the same flight logs.
The flight logs. Let's start there.
Jeffrey Epstein ran a blackmail and child trafficking operation.
This is not a conspiracy theory.
This is what the evidence, the court documents, the testimony, and the plea agreements tell us.
He ran it for decades.
He ran it with powerful protection.
He ran it while maintaining friendships and professional relationships with politicians, financiers, academics, royalty, and media figures across the entire ideological spectrum.
Both sides. Always both sides.
Because Epstein wasn't serving an ideology.
He was serving a class.
That class has a left wing and a right wing.
Those wings argue loudly in public.
They fund opposing candidates.
They run attack ads against each other.
They give passionate speeches about values and democracy and the future of the nation.
Then the cameras turn off.
And they are all, in the end, in the same room.
Until the room becomes visible, nothing changes.
The left-right war is the room they built to keep you from seeing the room.

It'd be a darn shame if AI went rogue and just stole all the billionaires money and redistributed to the workers they exploited.

As long as liberals continue believing that arsonists will be their firefighters, America will remain an inferno.
But you just donβt care, do you @MarkWarner and @timkaine? Just keep them sweet gravy train donor checks cominβ.
TLDR: Fuck the American people.
Here's what I think @mehdirhasan doesn't understand: In the United States, polls don't make policy. Policymakers do. Screaming, shouting, and protesting are cute, and exercising all of your freedoms of speech in defense of the Palestinians is admirable.
But Mehdi is just a spectator. He's a professional spectator, jawboner, and bloviator, so he has no idea how government, diplomacy, negotiation, or strategic alliances actually work. No amount of public support in polling or public protest will influence how or when those in power drastically change Israel policy. Mehdi can hate U.S. policy toward Israel all he wants, whether it's being carried out by a Democratic or Republican president. But public opinion polls don't dictate American foreign policy. Never have. Never will.
Netanyahu agrees with @mehdirhasan and has explicitly said Israel should phase out the financial component of U.S. military aid and ultimately bring it down to zero. Israel can stand on its own. That measly $3.8 billion in annual U.S. security assistance is one component of a much broader strategic relationship with Israel that will NEVER be reversed. Ending that financial assistance wouldn't, by itself, end the U.S.-Israel alliance or the decades-long security, intelligence, defense, and diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
Military aid or no military aid, the fundamental question for American policymakers remains the same: What relationship with Israel best serves U.S. interests in the Middle East? Good debate to have. But he and his friends are delusional if they think the goal of U.S. policy is or will ever be to subjugate Israelβor suddenly recast a longstanding democratic ally and strategic partner as an American adversary on par with Putin's Russia.
They can advocate for changing U.S. policy toward Israel (also delusional, btw). That's entirely legitimate. But ending military aid is not the same thing as ending the U.S.-Israel strategic relationship, much less turning Israel into an enemy of the United States.
