A reminder - before we start getting lame apology posts - women are not a "learning experience". We should not have to be victimised and traumatised for you to learn how to be a decent human being.

I'm done with twitter, I get sucked into too much negativity here. I'm over on instagram @ amber.rambles or @ libraryof.amber for book content. Will leave this up til tomororw and deactivate from there, hope you join on the journey 😊

Ke Huy Quan was born in Vietnam, fled to Hong Kong, and then came to the United States as an eight-year-old refugee. The White House last month released a new rule that would ban refugees that stopped in another country before arriving at the US border.
"My journey started on a boat. I ended up in a refugee camp ... They say stories like this only happen in the movies. I cannot believe this is happening to me. This is the American dream!" - Ke Huy Quan #Oscars

Those BBC negotiations in full: “Delete the tweets” “No” “Okay, well, apologise for them” “No” “We’ll get somebody else in to do your job if you don’t” *Everyone downs tools* “Will you at least promise not to tweet political stuff in the future?” “No” “Okay, we have a deal”

Week 10 - a very busy one as several netgalley requests came in at once. If I could urge you to read one of these authors, it's Samanta Schweblin, a hugely underrated horror writer imo. If you like Kirtsy Logan, Camilla Grudova, and Mariana Enriquez, you need to check her out.

And Natives by Akala is a must read. I love that is isn't objective, I want to hear condemnation, and critique, and judgement.

The fact that the atrocities in Rwanda were only 30 years ago, and yet no one I know knows anything about it, is a crime. Even if you don't read this book, please read up about it. It is horrifying that this sits in silence in western-taught history. #booktwt #BookTwitter

The best ACOTAR review I’ve ever read. It’s as if my soul crept up in this person and guided their fingers as they typed this out 😭

This is claptrap. There are no drag ‘strip shows’ for children. There are story times, no different from pantomime, which for CENTURIES has featured men in drag telling kids stories without any controversy. Culture has not moved. It’s simply bigots trying to sow hatred & division
The hateful bandwagon I am on is not wanting toddlers in drag queen strip shows. Dan genuinely thinks that belief is ‘hateful’. Yet ten years ago, no one would have thought this. How has our culture moved so quickly? I haven’t changed. You have.

Here’s some context for Fiona Bruce to consider: my friend was hit ‘only once’ by her drunken husband. She is still unable to walk properly 10 years later. ‘Only once’ = a vicious, reckless, selfish, sadistic criminal.

I seriously back @BorisJohnson to be the new PM . The public like him and he will have a good chance of winning the general election in 2021 if not before. Any one who can stop @jeremycorbyn from becoming PM has my backing .

This is sad. Multi million pound companies like @ITV, and global singers like @ollymurs, @iamwill, @RealSirTomJones and @AnneMarie and no one can pay a few quid and support a local business. When banks take exposure as mortgage payments then maybe more people will do this. #payup
