Planning this...our benefactor had given away 95% of his fortune by the time he died. His gifts include a public swimming pool in Bedford, RNLI lifeboats, heart transplants at Papworth, better maternity facilities at the Rosie, and a Cambridge concert hall (well nearly!)
Mabel Robinson (painted by Sam Morse-Brown) watches the library deep clean. Thank you Sue, Katie and Jordi for your hard work keeping our shelves and books dust free.

@LauraCummingArt I'm the headmaster of Skegness Grammar & I've just finished reading your wonderful book. It's truly enchanting & now I've finished it I'm bereft..! It's affected me so much I've dug through our school archives. I think I've found some references to your mother.

Meet our decades-old book slide intended to rescue our library collection during a fire. Some time ago, we tested the instrument out. It is very effective but not great for the well-being of the books.*😬
(*No #rarebooks were harmed during the testing)
