Another morning helping residents at the Communal skip with ny ward colleagues Anton and Krishna - including driving around to collect large items people couldnt carry themselves. Always a pleasure!

Farage & Reform are getting desperate. This latest policy - to close the asylum system down is worthy of an ostrich. Just shut it all down and hope the issue goes away.
Reform are just not a serious party

Labour have shown their true colours again - by forcing changes on local councils which gut democratic decision making on planning
Burnham claims he wants to put power back into communites - if thats true he needs to reverse these changes.

Calling all Councillors - not just Lib Dems: you can help make sure your authority makes the music industry in your area - instead of breaking it.

Out with @libdemcharlie in #Alperton on one of our regular walkabouts.
As @libdems Councillors we spend a lot of our time walking our ward, picking up local issues and demanding action from the Council.
If you ever have an issue you would like to report, please get in touch!
We recently scrutinised the new Culture strategy in Brent
There were clear gaps with no recognition of the role planning, nuisance and licensing need to play
I've asked the council to include this & recommended they review the Local Music Action Charter by UK Music
Recently on Community & Welbeing Scrutiny committee I challenged officers on whether they were measuring the right things when tackling youth crime
I will continue to make sure that the council is laser focused on what matters to support young people & help residents feel safe

Shouldn’t have come to this should it?
Keir Starmer failed to represent us, then left us without representation, and I’m having to spend my own time and my own money just to be heard.
Every major party has reached out, except Labour and @Sagal_AW.
"Quibbling" is not the word I wanted to use at the end of this speech - but what I wanted to say was not suitable for the council chamber.
We had a plan to stay below 1.5 degrees of warming. We have failed - because too many politicians have worried about the short term cost.
A year ago I forced the council leader to write to the Mayor's office about the service on the Picadilly line. This week I asked if he had followed up on the (long delayed) inadequate response. The answer was no.
We will keep pushing for an improved service on the Picadilly.
Instead of considering what actually needs debating in Brent, the Labour group just recycled a motion from 12 months ago, expressing support for the West London Orbital
To do it once was performative. Doing it twice is a waste of council time. Brent Residents deserve better

Progress today on the project to tackle ASB on the canal. A joint effort between Friends of the Grand Union, CRT, McConnells, the Council and myself.
We are putting in fences to block the most popular drinking spots on the canal - ahead of planting 100s of new bushes in Nov
Yet again a fair voting system has prevented the far right taking absolute power.
Still terryifing to see this happen in Germany, but if this happened here with our voting system Reform would be in power.
We need a fair voting system in this country

Every candidate in this upcoming election should visit Dan, Alex and the other leaseholders. They deserve real representation.
Replying to @ZackPolanski
I hope this isn't another "let's meet people who don't have problems" facade.
I invite you to visit 53 Agar Grove in Camden. We've been living in a dangerously defective new build for 7-years and our previous MP folded like a cheap deck chair.

Another morning clearing the rubbish from our stretch of the Canal with some wonderful local volunteers - part of the Friends of the Grand Union.

Not all Reform voters are racist.
But when the party allows comments like this from its leadership with no consequences. Then the party is racist.
If YOU are reading this thinking " I vote reform and I am not racist", then just take a hard look at the party you are supporting
Anything that leads to greaters transparency in AI generated content is good for jobs, creativity, and for the tech sector itself
We need AI, and we have to innovate, but I have argued for years that we have to do it responsibly. This shows it's possible
