Just be gentle with your vets. We do try our best every single day to keep everyone satisfied. We pour from an empty glass and sometimes we come up short. We’re trying our best. We’re really just trying our best.

As a professional who works in a healthcare sector that doesn’t have its balls in a corporate insurance vice grip….this is an enormous cry for help from the masses suffering at the hands of a greedy system. 💔

Post-trauma with a cervical fracture and my doctors wanted me to eat and have a bowel movement before discharge. Here I am in the cone of shame, feeling like one of my GI exploratory patients.

It’s been a long time since I had a “ride every colt in the barn, I don’t care how much you sweat” day and it’s been glorious. 🥰

Wondering why I worked so f*cking hard to get a degree just to keep working so f*cking hard to pay off this degree. Maybe I’m burnt out. Maybe I have too much on my plate. Maybe it’s just a bad day. Maybe I just need to vent. I don’t know.

Today, I am not proud to be a cowboy. Shame on everyone involved in this incident.
We do not condone/endorse this behavior, we are simply reporting the scenes outside of FH Fraternity this morning. Someone took #texashateweek a little too far…

When I say “payment is due at the time of service” that means I do the service and then you pay for it. Not tomorrow. Not next week.

When Halsey said “I’m tired and angry but somebody should be”, she was talking about STILL getting bit by mosquitos when you are drenched in bug spray.

Who else can’t doctor their own animals and has to call a trusted mentor or colleague to be reminded that they are indeed a real veterinarian capable of making a diagnosis and forming a treatment plan? Asking for me. 🙃

How to ruin my day in one sentence: “I didn’t know what to give him for pain so I gave my dog ibuprofen last night.” Y’all will Google using coconut oil for an ear infection but you won’t Google that!?

I graduated vet school swearing i would never own a business. Three years out and I’m operating a little relief business. Life is all about playing the hand you’re dealt. I’m pretty happy with how this hand played out.

In recent light of the #FTC challenging the non-compete, I’ve heard horrors stories of situations similar to my own. I was faced with a decision, sign an extremely restrictive non-compete or lose my job and home.

When i sought advice, I got “well that will never be enforceable” and figured that meant I could sign with some level of comfort. What I didn’t understand and nobody happened to mention was that the litigious battle to prove that point was well outside of my budget.

I now am faced with leaving vet med, uprooting my life, or commuting a large distance to continue practice. I pray for this profession and hope to see change sooner rather than later.
