Our #BookOfTheDay is a delightful read about a child who is desperate for a pet... and then the creatures on the cereal boxes and food tins in her kitchen start coming to life! We love #AnimalCrackers from Ruby Wright: booktrust.org.uk/book/a/anim… @books_rocket

I can’t believe our children will grow up in a world where progress goes into reverse.

Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues—attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.

A friend left yesterday - he was warm, kind and always funny. He was Elmer and Mr Benn and even Bernard. His calm, kind way of looking at the world made me a better editor and I will miss him.

This is a Bologna awareness tweet for all of your travelling to Bologna on Sunday and Monday. You’ll need an FFP2 or FFP3 mask to board your flight to Italy. Luckily I had one but I didn’t know the airline wouldn’t let you on otherwise.
