Here’s an update👇 Oleksiy Koval, 49, from Kyiv, told Moldova 1 he was trying to reunite with his family after his military exemption was revoked. He says Ukrainian border guards caught up with him in the water, beat him unconscious, and then allegedly tried to strike him with their boat’s propeller. “When I came to, I was floating on my back. They turned the boat around and tried to hit me with the propeller. Locals pulled me ashore as the guards tried to detain me. Those people may have saved my life,” Oleksiy said. Witnesses in the Moldovan village of Holosnita confirmed the attack. “They beat him over the head with a stick and tried to cut him with the boat’s propeller. We intervened and pulled him out of their hands,” local resident Yevgeny Prokopchuk said. Oleksiy was hospitalized with a concussion and multiple abrasions.
