Can you believe it? 24 years of NABJ membership and my 16th convention! Region III and the City of Atlanta really showed up and showed out. From the sessions and meetings to the signature events and receptions, every single moment was absolutely incredible. The innovation bubble? Don’t even get me started! Those are my absolutely favorite. But what really gets me every year are the real, unfiltered conversations with my brothers and sisters in media. Those late night and early morning heart to hearts about our industry and our careers were exactly what I needed and look forward to every year.
As always, these photos don’t even do justice to the amount of love I felt at this year’s convention. Leaving the convention was SO hard.... AND yes, I absolutely cried saying goodbye and hugged each one of them extra tight. Every year I leave feeling so full. But I’m already counting down the days until I get to see all of your beautiful faces in H-Town in 2027! 🤠 Back in Region III. (The region that made me. 😉) #NABJ26

What a step forward! 🙌🏽 Over two dozen congressional staff visited #FCIPetersburg Low—a great move by @BOPDepDirector. Hands-on visits like this tackle real challenges. 👏🏽"You don't know if you don't go!"

In an unprecedented move, more than two dozen congressional staff members visited #FCIPetersburg Low for an on-site tour led by @BOPDepDirector, marking the Bureau’s first-ever large-scale congressional staff facility visit. For years, many of our challenges were discussed from a distance, but this time, congressional staff experienced institution operations firsthand, engaged directly with inmates and Bureau leadership, and saw the significant infrastructure and staffing challenges facing the federal prison system.

🎉 THIS DAY IN HISTORY 🎉 77 years ago today, on July 15, 1949, broadcaster Jim Patterson signed @WBTV_News 3 on the air for the very first time. As the 13th television station in the United States and the 1st in the Carolinas, WBTV made history as the oldest station between Richmond, VA and Atlanta, GA.
Seven decades later, BTV is still going strong and I am incredibly proud to have launched my television career at this very station I grew up watching and admiring. Here's to many more years! 📺🎉
