Gilbert Elementary is now officially a Project ADAM Heart Safe School! This national recognition shows their commitment to keeping every Eagle—Students, staff, and visitors—safe with quick, proactive care if a cardiac emergency ever happens. GES now has a campus-specific emergency plan, strategically placed AEDs ready within three minutes, and a trained Eagle Safety Team on site to jump into action with CPR and AEDs at a moment’s notice. They run regular safety drills to keep the team sharp and response quick. It’s all part of their everyday promise to keep everyone safe. #Lex1Safety youtube.com/shorts/l1S00gfC6…

October is National Principals Month, and we’re celebrating the leaders who help make our schools great places to learn, grow and belong. Our principals do a little bit of everything — supporting students and staff, connecting with families, visiting classrooms, solving problems and celebrating successes. Through it all, they help create welcoming school communities where students can thrive. Join us in thanking our principals for all they do!

Last week, non-profit Funding the Future brought international touring artist GOODING to Pelion High School for an unforgettable experience that combined the energy of a live rock concert with practical lessons in financial literacy. Through powerful music, dynamic visual storytelling and personal experiences, students learned valuable skills such as budgeting, building credit responsibly, avoiding debt and planning for their financial futures. @goodingmusic @FTFLive @PelionPanthers youtube.com/shorts/zy6WM7QlX…

In 2001, after the initial shock of 9/11, students at White Knoll Middle went into action. Students, staff and local leaders raised over $500,000 to buy a new fire truck for the New York City Fire Department. WKMS students rallied support by selling 9/11 pins, stickers, and buttons at football games and around the community to fund the fire truck fund. The @scstatemuseum is honoring WKMS in it’s “S.C. Remembers 9/11” exhibit. The exhibit shows the T-shirts, pins, and stickers student sold, along with pieces from what was Ladder 101. The exhibit is free to visit and open through April 4, 2027. #PatriotDay #NeverForget #25YearsLater youtube.com/shorts/jv_6gtkJe…

River Bluff High’s Alena Goveas was named the recipient of the 2026 R.D. Bennett Community Service Scholarship, awarded by the Electric Cooperatives of S.C. She organized a senior wellness fair at Lexington Medical Extended Care, lining up donations, games, crafts, music and over $800 in snacks. After heading to Washington, D.C., for a week as one of Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative Youth Tour delegates, she brought that inspiration back home to complete her project. Great work, Alena! #GraduateProfile #Lex1Proud youtube.com/shorts/uF9xlIc9G…

Bea Arnold has served the Lexington One community as a school bus driver for more than 20 years. Each day, she works to make sure students feel safe, welcomed and valued. This year, Bea is celebrating 10 years of living with chronic myeloid leukemia, a slow-growing cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. Although cancer remains part of her life, Bea has learned to see each day as a gift. Her experience has taught her to take chances, enjoy life more fully and keep moving forward through difficult moments. That resilience has shaped the way she faces her own challenges and how she encourages others. To help support cancer research and the development of new treatments, Bea created the “Bea-lieve in a Cure” team for the Light The Night Walk. She is especially inspired by children who are fighting leukemia and other blood cancers. Their strength and resilience motivate her to keep raising awareness and supporting the cause. Everyone who walks, donates or shares Bea’s message helps spread hope and reminds others that they do not have to face difficult times alone. #GraduateProfile Read more: parentsquare.com/feeds/86281… Join the “Bea-lieve in a Cure” team or donate: pages.lls.org/ltn/sc/ColumbS…
