Last night, on the call with the Mayor’s Office to Combat Antisemitism, we were advised that their comprehensive plan didn’t even include the word Zionism, or Zionist Jews, because “Zionism is a political ideology.” Zionism is not a political ideology, it’s part of the ethnic and religious identity of the majority of American Jews. Plus, “the Mayor’s plan to combat Antisemitism fails to address one key question: How do we combat the hateful rhetoric that rolls out of the Mayor’s own mouth—and the violence against Jewish New Yorkers he is fueling?”
