I wasn’t dooming about Mamdani (fine he’ll be a little worse than de Blasio) until my Boomer mother, who has catastrophically bad political instincts, asked me if I voted for Mamdani, told me that he was the best of three candidates, and said that she thought he seemed ‘hopeful.’
Really there’s no ‘endorsement’ that could better portend that things will be worse than what anyone can imagine.
