We just got approved in CISA's NICCS Education & Training Catalog!🔥 31 courses now mapped to official Work Roles, Competency Areas, and TKS Statements (Tasks, Knowledge, Skills). For students, you can now put this on your resume having completed officially recognized training. All 31 of our current courses made the cut, from Detection Engineering and DFIR to Cloud Security and GRC. For enterprise and government teams, it means an easier path to justify training spend. NICCS listing is a signal larger organizations and agencies look for when building out workforce development programs, especially ones that need to map back to the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework. Check it out! niccs.cisa.gov/training/cata…

Give AI this one instruction... Models pick up on the assumption baked into your question. If your prompt sounds like "there has to be an answer here," they'll invent one to satisfy you. Even the frontier models do this. One-line fix: give it explicit permission to say "this doesn't apply." Suddenly the hallucinations stop and you get actual honest answers. Prompting is a skill. This is one of the highest-ROI ones to learn. Watch more talks like this here: jht.link/ContinuumCon #ContinuumCon #PromptEngineering #AITips #LLM #AI

The cheaper AI makes detection rule generation, the deeper the expertise needed to judge whether it fits your business context. HardStuck: Detection Engineering beta goes live Friday Aug 14 to train exactly that. Requirements, design, validation, deployment, maintenance.
Detection engineering is more than writing rules. What happens after implementation? Auditing? Maintenance? ... when do you retire them? AI is also making rule generation cheap. That means more rules entering your environment faster. More validation, oversight, and technical debt. Right now we train you heavily on producing rules and testing them against telemetry. But now the next part is needed. Our next course trains the engineering process: requirements, design, validation, deployment, maintenance. It's being written by a very experienced Senior Threat Detection Engineer who is seeing this problem compound in the field today. You asked for more Detection Engineering content, and you're getting it. ✅ 1 on 1 submissions and feedback included. Full reveal and waitlist next week. 👀

HardStuck: Detection Engineering beta opens Aug 14. At full release it brings a new R&D (Research & Development) certification class to the industry: HADES R&D. Earning the cert requires new original detection research plus a full lifecycle detection build, reviewed by the author himself, and made to live in your portfolio. This new course covers the engineering process: requirements, design, validation, deployment, maintenance. It's built by Rain Jordan, original author of our DE&TH track, founder of his own detection company, and a Senior Threat Detection Engineer in the field. Adventurers and Guardians are in the beta automatically. Draw forms go out next week for everyone else, with a special one for DE&TH owners. Full details in this month's newsletter: news.leveleffect.com/p/hards… Note: the Founder's Sale ends Aug 16. Over 40% off annual, locked for life. Lowest ever, and it gets you into the beta.
