I lost 25lbs by just changing a few of my habits. First I avoided sugar. Then I did my research and found the slow-carb diet by @tferriss. I bought his book #4HourBody and followed the diet and the weight practically melted off! Pick a goal, create a process and make it a habit.

Always re-evaluate your life's direction You can never get where you want in life if you're just keeping your head down You need to look up once in a while to ensure you're heading where you want to go
What are you trying that is against conventional wisdom? This year instead of focusing on one side project, I'm going to try to have 2-3 at a time. Obviously I'm spending 80% of my time on the main one But you don't know what will stick until you try many things
Finally finished my yearly review Here's my layout Overview of the year Monthly Recap of the events Successes and accomplishments Failures and setbacks Reading Stats 10 Goals for the year It gives a good reflection of how the year went and where my goals should point to
The crazier things get, the more important it is to find your stillness Being calm in wild times is a superpower
Be careful who you follow Be it in life or on twitter They can lead you down a path you never wanted to go down Or it's just an echo chamber, where they're exactly like you Seek different perspectives as much as you can but be careful who you listen to

If you're struggling with something, try journaling Journaling is helpful for seeing your thoughts from a different perspective. You can write what the issue is, what you tried and what you can do about it. Sometimes writing stuff down is enough to find a solution
Started my yearly review today It's crazy how much happened last year and how far I've come. I struggled with anxiety about the future but I took action to reduce it. I'm happy to say I'm much less anxious. No matter how small your wins, be proud of what you overcame.
One thing I say to myself: "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable" Your growth is out of your comfort zone
Don’t trust anybody who doesn’t do at least one activity they despise. I hate long-distance running, but I do it occasionally for humility. It’s not a coincidence: Miserable people live with the false expectation that they should love every activity.

If you are going to make a mistake, go for too much too soon. It is far better than too little too late.

Minimize choices to save your mental bandwidth for when it really matters
Create automatic rules around the things that help you be the best version of yourself. In the moment that matters, choices are inconsistent. Rules never fail. One rule I adopted is that I'm in bed by 11 every night because sleep is so important. Adopt 1 automatic rule a month
We survived another year. After looking back at the past year, it's time to plan ahead. Do you have any big goals for the year? What do you hope to accomplish? I had a pretty big year but I'm setting my bar high this year. The bigger you think, the better your results.
Here's a few things I accomplished in 2020 Had my first baby! Bought my first home Focused on investing Started a few side-projects Took some courses on web development, investing and trading Read 48 books What have you accomplished in 2020?
Last day of the year, 2020 will be over in less than 16 hours Did you accomplish what you wanted to this year? How did you cope with all the stress and uncertainty this year? Give yourself credit for getting through the year Reflect on your wins and how you can improve
I've been doing a life balance review for the last 2 years. I call it my weekly review It really helps you see things from a bird's eye view. I write 3 things that went well I rate 12 different categories out of 5 based on how I feel about them Then I write goals for each
The work-life balance is bullshit As you know, there's many different aspects to life, not just work So I do a whole life balance review every week, I review categories such as health, relationships, finance and yes work Reviewing each category is going is how you find balance
How to read more: I've read almost 50 books this year How did I do it? It's pretty simple actually. You just have to make a few changes. THREAD

3. Use tech to your advantage It's frowned upon to read while driving Luckily, @audible_com exists and you can use it to listen to your books You have a phone with the ability to get any book instantly, choose a book and read while you're waiting in line instead of scrolling

4. Keep the pipeline full I have a list full of books I want to read, I also have tons of books already purchased ready to be read Always having one ready is a great way to not waste time deciding on which one to read next. Just pick another one and keep reading.
