Something I want to add to this discussion is that something similar happens with mecha, western Otakus tend to only watch Eva, Code Geass or Gurren Lagann, missing decades of context by not even touching Mazinger, Getter Robo or Gundam, with the same "childish" excuse
I think it's funny that the only piece of Japanese media/popculture that anime fans consume is anime. Which isn't something I have a problem with at all, you do you But it's almost always funny when anime fans tend to miss so much by simply not watching things like Toku.

Imma say something mildly controversial. Some of yall don't remember the dark periods of battletech, and it shows. I have no strong love for CGL. The plastic is nice. That's about all I got. But if you think they're worse than Fanpro or Wizkidz... you don't remember those+

It appeared in a fan TRO produced by the old Lords of the Battlefield forum. The original art and game stats were created by a person with the username Rad. Here is the original artwork :

I really do wish they didn't look like B-movie monster costumes, i remember Alex sketching up really cool redesigns for the old Protos and if they looked like that from the beginning, i'm sure we'd have more Protos nowadays

I agree about the Quickdraw. I like the redesign, but i find its legs a wide from the front when it originally had thin, almost blade-like, hips and the strange disc-shaped actuators. I personally think this @Flyingdebrisguy art captures the original design the best.
