Bhagavad Gita 3.8 (Perform Your Duty)
नियतं कुरु कर्म त्वं कर्म ज्यायो ह्यकर्मणः।

Perform your prescribed, natural duty, for action is far superior to inaction. Without performing action, even the basic maintenance of your physical body would not be possible.

A Simple Framework for Evaluating Mutual Fund Schemes Across Categories
1. Quantitative Evaluation Metrics
a) Performance Consistency: Evaluate rolling returns across market cycles (3Y and 5Y windows) instead of point-to-point trailing returns.
b) Risk-Adjusted Ratios: Higher Sharpe, Treynor, and Sortino ratios to measure genuine return per unit of total and downside risk.
c) Downside Capture: A ratio under 100% to ensure the fund falls less than its benchmark during market downturns.
d) Portfolio Concentration: Concentration risks measured via top 5 and top 10 holdings, alongside sector weightings.
2. Qualitative Parameters
a) Fund house pedigree: Track record, governance standards, and institutional stability of the AMC sponsor.
b) Investment process adherence: Consistency in sticking to the stated scheme mandate without style drift.
c) Risk management systems: Robustness of internal operational, market, and credit risk control frameworks.
d) Fund manager stability: Continuity and tenure of the lead manager driving the strategy.
e) AUM size relative to liquidity: Asset base aligned with the trade liquidity of underlying holdings.

We accomplish through delegation. We delegate to time, it’s efficiency. We delegate to people, it’s effectiveness.
Many avoid delegation because they think they can do it better. But giving responsibility to skilled people frees our energy for higher-leverage work.
