A KILLER HURRICANE🌀 May be Developing off the North & South Carolina around June 1-2 2026 & Possibly Hitting the CAROLINAS around June 1-3rd 2026!!!!! WOW!🌀🌀🌀🌀
*****This is VERY EARLY for A DEADLY HURRICANE to Develop, but were Keeping an EYE🌀 on it!!!!!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
There are no credible forecasts for a major hurricane hitting the Carolinas in early June 2026. NOAA predicts a below-normal hurricane season due to El Niño. Meteorologists note that this post relies on a single, long-range model run without ensemble support. x.com/WFXRWeather/st…
With the recent snowstorms in msp, upon using tmsp a few times. I found something a bit concerning an area of radar scan that is contam. Turns out there is housing development surrounding the site looking through radar archive the contam scan begun at 12:37 pm 11/06/25 #mnwx

Lots of talk about an incoming Polar Vortex Disruption.
I personally think Stratobserve is one of the coolest websites to view and understand this process.
Here’s a 3D animation showing an example GFS run of how a polar vortex disruption physically disrupts the cold air and moves that cold air out of the Arctic.
At the start, the vortex is like a spinning top sitting upright over the pole. When it spins cleanly, it acts like a deep bowl that keeps the cold air centered and contained.
As the animation progresses the vortex becomes stretched, tilted, and wobbly, almost like the top gets bumped and starts rocking to one side.
When the top wobbles, the bowl underneath it tilts too, and the cold air shifts in the same direction the vortex is leaning.
In this example you can see the lower part of the vortex tilting toward Eurasia and parts of North America, which shows how the cold air reservoir below can be displaced out of the high Arctic and pushed toward those regions.
A weakened, wobbling vortex also makes it easier for high latitude blocking to develop, and that blocking acts like a wall that forces the displaced cold to move farther south instead of circling the pole.
We still do not know whether this will meet the full criteria for an official SSWE imo, but this animation simply shows how a disrupted, unstable vortex can tilt, wobble, and shift the Arctic cold toward Eurasia and North America.
This specific loop is just one model example, not the final forecast to be clear but it’s cool to show a demonstration from a 3D.

Hrrr 18z absolutely cooked up a interesting scenario for the Minneapolis area #mnwx
On May 10th through the morning of the 11th. Magical auroras painted through the sky of the continental United States. This was my view just east of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Truly a breathtaking and a night that will be remembered by many. #mnwx
Likely just scud but it looked interesting a few times. Viewing from Woodbury @NWSTwinCities #mnwx

A reminder that mobile homes ARE NOT SAFE SHELTERS during severe thunderstorms/tornadoes. We’ll see both those threats Tuesday. Please make arrangements for alternate shelter now. If you know someone who lives in a mobile home, offer them a place to stay during the event. Be safe
